Is there any reason not to use the freeware version of Davinci Resolve? When I get time I want to try it out which will be my first time vid editing.

premier pro is better than DaVinci and any feature Davinci has you're covered with the other programs in your creative suite like after effects

Davinici also has lots of pay to play features that make it not free as well as a less straight forward workflow

Ive played with both and premier in my amateur use is easier
