What's the worst job you've ever had?

For me 2006 after my senior year in high school. I worked at Subway with a stoner who never talked, and reeked like weed, and would laugh while making subs for the customers pretty sure they thought he was retarded. My other co worker was some ugly goth chick that listened to death metal when we washed dishes.

Then you had boomers that would come in, and never know what they want...It was kinda like this lol ded srs

Did a bunch of various construction work during summers in high school and uni.

I wouldn’t call them bad jobs though, I’ve just never really had any terrible work experiences tbh.

Summer before grade 12 I got a job from a neighbour to paint the outside of his house and the walls in his kitchen. Dude was moving to china for work and at the end of the job offered me his car as payment lol… srs. 2001 bmw 330 my first car.

McDonald's in high school. I worked at a really bad one. found a bloody bandaid in the apple pie and worked with fuking retards. One guy was illiterate and couldn't read a clock. So I had to draw what the hands should look like when he would have to come back from breaks.

Also worked asphalt in college. Worked with a bunch of fuking tweakers.

Probably a labor job I took for a few weeks. I had finished one job and was moving away to another location for my next, and I wanted to make money with next to no notice.

They hired me the next day, almost signing up for it, and I lifted things for 10 hours a day with mostly lowlives.

helped deliver for UPS during the Christmas season. My driver was a douche (different driver some times) and people are total fcking asshats. If you ever met a disgruntled postal worker or UPS/FedEx worker just know there is a perfectly just reason why they are angry.

Residential roofer. Doing that **** in the middle of summer is probably the most punishing job you can have

Out in the sun all day, if its 30 degrees celsius, the roof will be about 50. On your knees all day. If you dont have a boom you have to carry every shingle pack on ur shoulder up a ladder, which i had to do, dealing with the angle of the roof. Need very annoying knee pads and the people you work with are usually crazy.

I also did coping and flashing, im a sheet metal worker, it wasnt as bad as shingle roofing but you are still in the elements all day, on your stomach, knees, dealing with hot metal and heights, now I just install ventilation and its so much easier.

Maybe bricklayers is tough too but atleast you are on your feet all day

Factory worker would also be brutal because how repetitive it is. Imagine doing the same movement 5 days a week. They keep the same people at the same spot because it increases productivity the longer they stay there, they just get better and faster.

I was locked up and had a dishwashing job in the cafeteria, the bad part was I had to wake up at 4:45 a.m. five consecutive days a week, to report to work from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. My sleep patterns got so disrupted that one time I woke up at dinner time and thought it was breakfast time the next morning. That was a real mindfukk.

I quit that job and rejoined 3 times during the year and a half I was locked up there.

Long-term; McDonalds. primarily as the staff didn't give a phuck and would do no shows, turn up late, mess around, do no work. I found myself rubbing shoulders with ex-convicts, drug users, window-lickers, wannabe gangsters. Customer treated staff like chit and would often start yelling in front of everyone to look tough.

short-term; worked at a cold-calling sales office for 1 day. I'm not sure if the set-up was even fully legal. I had zero screening or interview before joining, which looked odd, and was just basically told to turn up and start. Office had mis-matched furniture which looked like it had been rescued from a tip and the place was generally a mess. Manageress just sat there shouting abuse at people.

Just one day and never went back.

When I was 16 my mum (who is BPD) pulled me out of 6th form because I skived off one day and got caught, and forced me to get a job (seriously)

As an unqualified 16 year old in an economic downturn you can imagine my prospects. But my mum literally harrased me and made my life hell until I got a "job"

I ended up getting an "apprenticeship" in customer service at a car dealership, two towns over.

Used to get up at 5.45am to get a bus into town, to get another bus that took an hour to get off the bus and walk 30 minutes to get to work and be told off for being 5 minutes late.

Was paid the princely sum of $150 a week, my mum took $50 for board, most of the rest went on bus or food, mum would say make lunch at home but there would never be any lunch food, she would say "take a cheese sandwich and a pack of chips"

Was left on the front desk to be yelled at by angry customers while the older staff on 4-5 times my pay hid out the back and told me it was my training.

Was supposed to work 25 hours a week and do 15 hours study but this never happened and I worked 45 hours every week, the company in charge of my apprenticeship didn't help me at all.

Used to get home at 8.15 every night, eat and fall asleep.

There was one nice guy at this company, he only worked there a few weeks, most nights he would drive me home miles out of his way because he felt so bad for me. He ended up leaving because the rest of the people that worked there were pricks.

Boss eventually told me he wanted me to do every other Saturday as well, unpaid.

Ended up crying like a lil bitch, big boss of the company sees, takes me into his office, I tell him what's up.

He calls my mum and goes ballistic down the phone at her as to why is she letting me do this job as the logistics are just inhumane.

Mum apologies profusely, says she was wrong etc says I can quit, boss agrees and even gives me a few hundred bucks because he feels sorry for me. Mum says she will let me go back to 6th form etc.

Bout 2 days later mum starts harrasing me that I need to get a full time job.

And so my life went on.
