Nah, I've seen bears and hunted them with friends. I don't have any interest in harvesting them myself. They are full of worms and worrying about making sure my meat is always well done is enough for me to stick with elk.

If you hunt or hike certain areas it isn't unheard of.

I have bumped 2 black bears over the years. They wandered off, but cub season would have been a different circumstance.

There is no greater rage on the planet than a grizzly bear attacking. They are some fierce predators.

We just had a guy day this weekend looking for elk sheds in the mountains.

Idk what I would even be comfortable shooting them with lol. A .50 maybe. Shotgun is probably your best bet.

I would probably run a 357 in the lower 48 and a 44 mag in Alaska.

Never a bear, but I've killed over 50+ whitetail deer in my day through my expertise in handling quality rifles.

I can honestly say that I've NEVER missed a shot, and every single deer I shot at was harvested quickly. We like to use the term "harvested", btw.

I do. I live in rocky mountains and spend a lot of time in griz country. Have never needed to shoot a bear in self defense but am always strapped in griz country. I also sleep with a 12ga loaded with slugs or buckshot when I camp. Attacks do happen, more often than you would think. A hiker got killed outside of Yellowstone a week or 2 ago

I was walking down the street one day carrying my PTRS anti-tank rifle (I have a CCW permit) when I was accostted by a bear. He ran up to me on all fours, then stood up on its hind legs and produced a pistol. So I pretended that I was going to hand over my wallet, when in reality I swung my PTRS into firing position and fired a round right through the bear's nuts, kiling him instantly.

I use a 357 wheel gun in grizzly country. Had a 10mm but lost confidence in it when I had to put an elk down from a high hit. My backpacking buddy carries a 44.

I'm usually hunting when I'm in bear country and I'd be reaching for my rifle and some bear spray before a pistol
