Is the Rock an overrated actor?

I find his acting and movies in general a bit forced and unbelievable.

He has since been the #1 highest paid actor in 2019, 2020, 2021 & 2022.

He's a leading man "star" type and doesn't need to act.

There's lots of male stars that basically play the same character and they aren't doing any acting. Your aren't going to see George Clooney playing a retarded guy, he will play himself in his next film.

So, I like the Rock because he's a "Nice Big Guy" and that's a quality character in these times. I also like that he's a minority but it doesn't matter because he's a "Nice Big Guy". Also, he represents THOSE OF US THAT ACTUALLY LIFT and isn't always scary, but nice.

So, he does a good job as a movie star but I don't know if he can act.

Who is rating him highly. He's always produced reliably entertaining action/drama films with some comedy and you know what you're getting with a Rock movie. I usually like them.

There's lot of fun movie actors who don't do serious drama. Jason Statham is not going to play a retarded cripple on a road trip after his cancer diagnosis.

Movies since they were invented serve as a nice get away for people and many do not want to see retarded Statham, so what he's doing is cool.
