The illegitimate administration further attempting to phase out gas engines 40MPG '26

https://www.ocregister.com/2022/04/0...-about-24-mpg/
40 mpg by 2026. Illogical and impractical for a manufactured crisis. You've got California dumping their water supply and crying water shortage, elites flying planes, investing in EVs for the great reset and pushing for electric vehicles. BUY ELECTRIC AND YOU WON'T PAY FOR GAS! Then they'll raise that...getting played.
They don't fukin care about you. They don't actually care about the environment. More laws, more restrictions, more taxes, more screwing the american people.
How the fuk is forcing auto manufacturers to struggle to meet an unrealistic MPG figure, so they cancel models and invest MORE into a car so now it COSTS MORE, thereby having no affordable car or variety HELPING AMERICA
I can't wait till this guy just fukin hangs himself. That will save the country. Him and Peter Puffer Buttjudge need to be hung off of a crane.

one thing i don't understand is like.. ok, gas emissions will be lower

but if everybody is going electric

doesn't that mean more electricity has to be produced? and the main source of electricity is oil... so you'll need more oil consumption for more electricity. sooooo didn't really change anything

i'll admit im unaware of the significance in c02 emissions from gas compared to battery. guess it's possible gas would be way more, but still..

Very shortsighted and lots of unintended consequences.

More demand for electricity = price goes up for literally everything.

yea, i reckon they'll parrot it's the "green movement" so it's larger than just oil production for electricity

there's coal, hydro, wind, solar, nuclear, etc.

but oil is still the main component. nuclear is being more implemented but not in such a short time frame, and hydro, solar, wind are pretty inefficient. nuclear i think also has very high start up costs but then once running is super efficient. massive solar farms taking up tons of land only power a fraction from the electrical grid.

so increased electric vehicles still means increased oil production imo

and we're not even going into the other deleterious effects for EV's

Very little oil is used to generate electricity.

Coal is still used lots worldwide. China has over a thousand. The USA has about 200.

Hydro doesn't belong in the same sentence as solar and wind.....

i wasn't really speaking worldwide. in the u.s. oil is the most used

i feel like i've read sources with more but natural gas (fossil fuel) is about 40% while coal is 22%. again, that's the u.s.

so.. take gas stations and all that fuel. but replace them with ev charging stations

the ev charging stations will require more electricity which will require more oil

UNLESS they can get the other sources more efficient. but i dont think they're there. possibly if they switched to mostly nuclear but a) not sure people want it b) not sure we're there

With the relatively big demand for SUVs and trucks in the US, I doubt we won't feasibly see those numbers anytime soon.

They won't outlaw gas engines, they simply won't sell them.

95% of the population see cars as A to B options. They don't care if it runs on gas or electricity.

I think so. I believe that the target was higher and Trump lowered it.

Practically speaking I would expect it to make big trucks and SUVs even more expensive if manufacturers have to hit a high fleet average as they will need to subsidize the high MPG vehicles with profits from the low MPG vehicles if consumers continue to prefer trucks/SUVs over sedans and compact cars.

co2 is good for plants and trees. plants are literally made of co2

converting everything to batterys wont save anything anyways, its just moving the co2 production and is less efficient. the earth goes through cooling and heating phases naturally.

then you have the paris climate accord that joe biden re-signed us up for, which will only further increase inflation as we are sending trillions to China and India, while shrinking our jobs and GDP in america.
