I saw a Pilot Yesterday Leaving a Hotel

I was walking to a meeting looking at my phone and looked up.

Dude was in full suit with the cap and all. white guy, like 6'3. well built. chiseled jaw. young. honest looking

im just like damn, how can regular dudes compete. How could i compete (looks-wise)...i cant


but then while writing this post I'm like, maybe even that guy has a wife or gf who's tired of his chit or cheats on him - maybe that thought is cope idk


but yeah. Some dudes not only hit the genetic lottery but pick a cool profession like being a pilot male HBB

Not cope, it's reality. No one's life is perfect. What you're seeing is just one facet of that man's life. There could be plenty of things going on in his life that make it even out in the end. Nothing different than looking at instagram and thinking, "Man... he/she has it ALL. Living the good life...". Not realizing their relationships are in shambles, they have body image issues, their mom is transitioning into their dad, and they have stage 4 colon cancer.

very true. I just try and make sure my thinking doesnt stem from some insecurity/cope. But yeah he could be dumb as rocks or boring etc. That exterior is a straight cheat code though. I guess i havent seen a top teir male in person in a while so it was an interesting reminder.

Thats not true.

It is if you count "small jobs".

Average is well above 100k. (if you are an Airline Pilot)

Lets say 110-120k for a recently hired F/O and 250k for captains (depends on the company, aicraft you fly, years of service etc).

There are other types of pilots that make less money (making the average 82k), like Banner Towing, Glider Towing, Flying w/ parachutists, tourist flights, flight instructors ... which are jobs you gotta do to get the experience you need to jump to the airlines. So the 82k is affected by this.


But we don't do it for the salary. If thats your main reason, you will not make it. Is like saying: "Just checked a Navy Seal salary... 54k pfffffff"... they don't do it for the money. Both careers are usually "childhood dreams"/vocations.

Plus, there are a lot of cheaper , more straight forward and easier paths out there that will allow you to make as much as an airline pilot, like becoming a lawyer or an engineer (yes, easier).


Fun fact: In some European coutries (like Portugal, for example) airline pilots make more than doctors, engineers, lawyers, college professors, actors, etc. for example. But thats never the main motivation. Ive never met a pilot who said: "I do it for the money".






Answering OP... there is no such thing as "perfect life". Not easy to get a serious girl as a pilot (a lot of insecurities along the way, as you may be long periods of time without seeing each other - imagine yourself dating a flight attendant, for example...). Plus, it is good not to have anything serious that could make in impossible (or extremely hard) for you to move to another city or other coutry. But yes, pilot uniforms can look really cool.


I know it is not a pilot uniform, but is similar. But again, depends from company to company. Mine looks 99% like that one (my hat is black tho).



This being said, pilot is one of those jobs that can be great (if you love it) or an absolute nightmare (if you do it for a bad reason like earning a good salary, looking cool, fuking girls or even travelling the world)

With experience, making captain, flying for the right carrier, and once you get into the heavy iron (747, 777, 787, A350, A330, A380) $300k+ is not uncommon. Junior pilots flying for regional carriers in the US get chitty pay for sure.

This. Its always well above average but you will not be making 6 figures when you are a junior pilot flying smaller aicrafts.

my dad was a pilot, retired now. once the plane lands and the crew is on the bus going to the hotel the bottles start popping and the party starts, add to that that Im from Poland so he was flying during communist times so he was literally like a rock star back then

Being a pilot in the 50's-70's was fuking lit bro. Look up some of the stories from the Pan-Am times. Being a pilot now-a-days not so much. Instead of 4-5 stewardess HBB's you have some tranny, a fat old lady, a ph a ggot, and a few moody black chicks to fill their quota for diversity. LMAO

Well again, depends on the company. Obviously the "diversity" bull**** is getting everywhere.

Again... we don't do it for the stewardess and "****" still happens. Every pilot has some good stories.


It is still a great career. Obviously the golden times are gone. But thats valid for every other profession aswell. Unless you are a celebrity, you aint getting as much attention as Airline Pilots used to get in the 50s - 70s. They were literally semi-gods. There is nothing comparable today... not even astronauts lol.

To people wanting to get attention, saying something political on Tik Tok is probably the best way nowadays.

Most engineers aren't touching $200k even after 15 years. Most pilots officers will see $225k after 15 years. Captains can rake in $300k.

I flew on Air China and it was awesome. All stewardesses were young and skinny. Not necessarily models or hbbs, but it was cool to see old school restrictions like no fat fuks, no men, no old ladys, trannies all that chit. Only feminine thin girls. Then they had an actual meal that was pretty good, it was noodles and seafood chit but it was legit for a airline meal.

If Emperor Xi wins the next cold war / WWIII maybe it will be alright.

True. I mentioned engineers because you have the chance to make more than that, if you are great. But yes, the big majority will never make that amount of money.

If he had a full leather jacket probably worked for Southwest who is known for hiring retired AF. There was a statistic I believe that you have an over 50% chance of one of your pilots being retired AF.
