Misc Jazzheads and Funk fans
Any jazz/junk fans here?
Post some music you like if so
I've been trying to get more and more into jazz and funk type music over the past few years and I would like some suggestions. Nothing beats chilling at night to some good music.

there is A LOT of nuance in jazz that you really don't pick up on until you really focus and listen to it. no wonder rock music is basically considered the music of cavemen...I mean some rock is OK...but the real reason it is so invigorating rock music that is because when people are yelling at you plus playing powerchords it has a visceral effect. not dissimilar to EDM that basically is a heartrate fluctuator thus blood flow throughout your body effect.
but yeah...jazz is truly intellectual (some not all) more along the lines of classical music.

there is so much its hard to pinpoint one best to find a branch and move from there to other artists ....and then keep moving.
modern stuff jazz fusion is pretty cool too but more along the lines of take drugs and listen music at least to me. so kinda spacey sounds. good though.
cliffs: best to think of jazz as mood music. what type of mood are you in? or wanna be in? late night jazz piano is pretty great & romantic (no homo). I dunno....just keep listening and you'll find something to latch onto.
here is something youll defo know....

A lot of Frank Zappa stuff sounds like it could be up your alley if you're not already aware, though he has so much chit.
I also like Ryo Fukui for what I think is some very middle-of-the-road jazz.
