Carpenters good at math (300K+ reps for answers)

I'm putting up an 8' x 10' steel shed, it should be mounted to a base so I went out and bought 2 pressure treated 2 x 4 x 8's and 2, 2 x 4 x 10's. Plan was to make a vertical square with them then I'll do the internal bracing with a bunch of 2x4's I got laying around, then put plywood on top for a floor.

At any rate being the idiot I am, I realized that 2 of the floor joists (?) will be off 1 & 3/4" inches on each side since I didn't account for setting the pressure treated lumber back to screw into the adjoining lumber.

With the price of Biden's lumber I can't really afford to screw this up, help me misc Tradie Brahs
Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

So you need to cut them back? Still trying to get what you're doing...

1-3/4 + 1-3/4 = 3-1/2"

The shed is 8' x 10'.

When I screw 4 two by fours together in a square it won't be 8' x 10' since to join them I have to but them against the adjoining 2'x4's.

Not sure if I know what the fukk you are talking about… but “2x4’s” are not actually 2 inches by 4 inches…they are 1.5” x 3.5”.

If you cut 3” off the length of the 2x10’s , you can butt the 2x8’s up against the cut edges of the 2x10’s, you will effectively be adding 1.5” to each end of the 2x10’s, making them 10 feet total length again.

This.
Still trying to grasp WTF op is doing.

I think he is using the pressure treated wood on the outside, and the floor joists are going to be poverty wood that he has hanging around so joe biden can't rape him at the lumber yard. Still don't get the issue though or the inner framing....
