Friend’s dog just got attacked by pit bull (pics)




My wife is preggo and loves going on walks and runs around here. Been looking at kangal puppies all morning

I also want to add it doesn’t matter whether you get the red colored , more cute Akita Inu or the American version

They get very similar size wise if they’re bred well and both will absolutely have a ****bull lying on its back defenseless in seconds ….

Get a Rottie. If trained right early on they are the BEST family dog to have, especially for protection against shiet tier breeds like pitt bulls.

Owning rotties is heartbreaking though. They get such horrible health problems starting around 7-10. Even from expensive nice breeders. Look for lack of hip dysplasia in family history (good luck). But even then we had dogs going blind and getting tumors and stuff way to frequently compared to my experience with other Breeds.

Personally I’m looking at a bullmastiff because they are less high energy and ok being lazy big dog. Little bit gentler then some of the other guard breeds but are also on the larger end of things.

Yeah I know, I'm ready for it. He has had some problems with legs when he was young. Ill take a good 8 years out of a rottie than other breeds

All the big working breeds have that problem though

German shepherds get hip dysplasia as well and back problems

Dobermans get bad ear infections ( why their ears get cropped ) , severe cardiac issues , cancer/tumors that cause fatal seizures , etc

They’re supposed to be extinct actually by 2040

The sled dogs like malamutes and huskies get epilepsy, nervous system problems, heart and thyroid disease.

But Ofc trash breeds like ****bulls don’t have any major health issues

Yeah guess it could be worse. Had a buddy who always had a Great Dane. I was like bro how tf you gonna put yourself through heartbreak every 4 years.

Dog park might be one of the places you’d be least likely to have encounters like that, doges at parks tend to be well socialized and you have selection bias in the types of owners there, types of dogs brought to parks, etc

I think random encounters would be much higher risk here

It's 2022 and people still leave the house without a gun or a knife. Just carry a fukken weapon. It really isn't that hard. Dog could've been gutted with a sliced throat in seconds and would prevent the dog from getting completely mauled.


Do the right thing and kill these chit breeds if you have the chance.

Sorry to hear that OP and I wish your friend's dog a speedy recovery.

It's one reason I almost always carry a firearm when I'm walking my dogs. Someone's chitbul will be off leash and just attack.
