Up $20k today in my Investment Account
Bought about $200k in Puts on QQQ today, which is a Tech ETF. Will get destroyed by higher interest rates and withdraw of Federal Reserve Support from markets. Assuming this will keep printing money for at least the next couple months. Hoping for one big drop(like 10% over 2-3 days) then I'll sell.
Wish me luck, boys and girls.

Data will determine whether a turnaround happens, and I'll have plenty of time to change course if needed. Ideally, I'm not looking to sell these for at least a month.

You are not totally confident in your thinking, this is an easy way to piss $200k down the drain
Even if it works out, managing your money like this will inevitably lead to losses
You want diversification, asymmetric probabilities, and risk management
At that point, managing these sorts of sums, you might as well work for Wall Street or hire someone who does
If you really are some rich DJ dude then would hire a financial advisor, it's still your money to manage how you want
But this way you can get insight from professionals and avoid making risky decisions like these
Risk is unavoidable and important, but it has to be managed very carefully
It's more about preventing losses and surviving than chasing wild gains

These types of investments are simply capitalizing of opportunities that I've started to realize after doing this for 3+ years now.

But yeah I think we'll have at least a couple green tech days this week. Hopefully tomorrow cuz my tech got wrecked today and I don't see this being red all week, no way.

Betting against QQQ is dangerous enough as it is, because it trends upwards
I'm not saying this to make you feel foolish, this stuff is just my job and I've seen this happen
You are better of diversifying into several assymetrical plays with a longer time frame
Good investing is boring, if you are an adrenaline junkie then you are just gambling
People who manage this kinda money with equity derivatives have the insigt/info to invest with confidence
This is more like making a bet for the thrill of it and then trying to rationalize it with strangers online
It's not my money, but I do believe that money is a valuable thing that shouldn't be wasted
They will straight up take your money
Consider also investing in your community
When you give to the poor, you lend to the Lord and He repays
That investment will enrich your life far more than extra $20k if you are already loaded
Just my insight from inside Wall Street, I won't be offended if you ignore it

QQQ is a good longterm investment. This isn't a longterm investment. It's a bet that QQQ will drop at least 10-15% in the next couple months.

1. This is not an investment. Its a gamble.
2. Until you realize those gains. Its irrelevant to talk about. Furthermore any 'gains' you make in the market are irrelevant to talk about until January of 2023.
3. There is nothing wrong with gambling and taking wins. But don't pretend like you don't take L's or hold bags too.
I did a lot of active trading in 2020 and it was fun. But IMO buying and holding stocks long term and trading Crypto is a much more profitable play. If I'm going high risk I want to be able to 10-100x my money.
