Any of y'all lose weight faster on low carbs?
I used to believe it's all about calories in and calories out, but I noticed I lose weight a lot faster (and more consistently) when I go on a low-carb diet even when I keep calories the same.
This is even after accounting for the initial water weight loss from a low-carb diet.
Anyone else experience the same phenomenon?

Yes. After about 2 weeks, sh!t gets real. It’s even faster if you go IF after a month. So for people who need to lose a good amount of weight, it’s a no brainer.

Yep. I was doing a calorie restriction about 4 weeks ago, but feeling sluggish and weight loss wasn't going as quickly as I needed.
Switched to a diet of basically just meat, veggies, water, and yogurt, and stopped eating rice(which was pretty much the only carb on non-cheat meals). Lost like 12 pounds in just the last 2 weeks.
Although I feel amazing and could keep this going indefinitely if I wanted to have no social life, the desire to have drinks 2-3 times per week in Summer will eventually derail it. But by then I'll be biking 20+ miles per day and could probably eat whatever I want and still lose weight.

It's mostly water weight and glycogen weight that you lose. At the end of the day - It's calories in versus calories out. Stop with the fad diets. Eat less. Find a diet that you enjoy that's sustainable.

Curbs cravings because you flatline your blood sugar like if you were fasting.
Metabolizing sugars prioritizes fat storage under the fascia in the midsection, as does metabolizing alcohol.
Keto experts probably know more mechanisms.
^Gordo with the Yale knowledge hammer. Glycogen comes with a lot of water weight.

The rate of fat loss is the same, it's just that you will see it visually sooner.
So for example on low carb, you might lose 5lbs in a month and lose two inches off your waist. You'll see those two inches gone within 2 weeks.
On a normal carb diet, you'll lose that same 5lbs in a month, but you won't lose those two inches until 4 weeks.
I've actually had this happen; weight goes down, measurements stay the same. Then one day it all comes off.

Been doing low carb for 29 days. Lost 8lbs so far. No calorie counting. Stuffing myself with meat (no homo), eggs, cheese, certain cooked vegetables and in season fruits. Had low carb bread like once a week so far. It’s the easiest I’ve ever lost weight when cutting. I’ve been tempted to do carnivore diet for months, but settled on this instead.

Carbs are stored in muscle as glycogen. Which is 1 part sugar 3 parts water. You burn off glycogen stores when on low carbs. I can drop 10 pounds in less than a week easy. But it isn't body fat. Once my glycogen stores are depleted I don't lose body fat any faster than any other calorie deficit diet. I feel better with some carbs personally and don't feel the need to binge by keeping some carbs in the diet

It's an illusion. I lost 20 pounds carb cycling and then snapped and binged on an entire loaf of bread, eating almost an entire jar of peanut butter and jelly with it. The next day I gained 7 pounds and was vascular as fukk, and looked like a different person. My neighbor even noticed the drastic difference. (Ded fkn Srs)
