I watched it randomly on Netflix when it first dropped there. I had no idea what it was even about. I actually thought it was a straight to Netflix movie I never remember seeing advertisements for it. It's really good.

I enjoyed it--watched it after finishing and enjoying Zodiac (2007). Both movies had tense moments that felt palpable to me, coincidentally the home invasion scene from Nightcrawler, and the scene in Zodiac when he enters the house of the presumed killer.

9/10 movie.

If you like Gyllenhaal in that kind of slightly out-of-control role, check out End of Watch and The Guilty.

He plays a cop in both, but has a similar unhinged sort of personality in both.

Gyllenhaal was so zoned in. Love when actors just totally absorb into their characters, and it's usually when the character is off a bit that it sucks you in.

They filmed some scenes from this movie 30 seconds from my house

Went down to a different area during filming for some of the escalade chase scenes, if you pay attention, they pass the same chase bank/ralphs/ like 10x during the final cut in the movie

It’s Jake Gyllenhaal’s best performance to date, great cinematography, and great character. Probably in my top 15 movies ever, and Lou Bloom is one of my favorite characters ever.

Fantastic film. Tell me if I'm wrong, this is probably Jake's best movie isn't it? Dude is basically an autist who just gets lucky. That finale is probably one of the most tense moments I've seen in a film in recent times.

I watched this specifically because some youtube psych mentioned it as the most convincing portrayal of a sociopath that they'd ever seen. Really good movie. Dude nailed the role.

Might have been the best acting performance I have ever seen. I turned it off 2/3rds the way through because of how uncomfortable it made me, srs.
