He is then alleged to have "fired back in self defense" when shot at. This is worlds away, for example, from someone like the Sandy Hook shooter or a disgruntled employee lol. I hardly think a "mass shooter" would just be willy nilly release back into the wild unless there was good reason/sufficient justification to do so lol

For a second there, I was as surprised as you were; then I read the story you linked.

P.S. I have actually read countless stories like this (albeit not with as many people shot - or in a public place), where a WHITE homeowner or WHITE car owner has been attacked and fires his firearm back in self defense and it either not charged at all or is indeed released on bail. Sure, in those instances, there is no dispute about a CCW - because the defendant in question is either in their home or has a permit - but it still sounds *vaguely* similar to what appears to have happened here.

This is also worlds away from carrying an ILLEGAL firearm like some gangbanger or whatever lol
