Anyone have trouble getting started on a gaming session?

Like especially after work and gym. I’ll find myself procrastinating playing a game and I end up just watching YouTube HBO max and go to sleep. When I do get started playing I almost always have a good time, but it’s almost too much work sometimes. Dear diary

I do. Sucks because my backlog keeps getting longer. This happens in phases though, and I'm very busy in life right now anyway.

The thing I hate is when I open my laptop after a week of no use for a gaming session and windows start updating.

Way to ruin my day

I put off games on my backlog because I just can't get myself hyped to start a new game. Most times I just want to plug in and zone out for an hour or two so 95% of the time I play COD online. Rarely get myself to start a new game these days.

Yeah happens all the time. I think my mood, energy, and how much free time I got has a lot to do with that. Sometimes I am just too tired to game and sitting back watching something is more my speed. Other times I might have something else I need to do before long so I won't want to be into a game, some other times I simply figure I don't have the time to get into a game. I think that's why I hardly ever play big epic RPG and long cinematic adventure style games, they just seem so daunting and time consuming to get into, I hardly ever feel like dedicating myself to getting into them, and if I do decide to get into them I usually only do that for a day, play something else, then forget about them for a long time. A lot of those big RPG games expect you to be playing them constantly and always on top of everything, heck some games just seem to expect you to be obsessing over them forever.

I guess I just enjoy variety, and I always liked the simplicity of arcade gaming where games are just super quick and easy to jump into. That and with all the variety we can have these days, it can get overwhelming. It's why I've been trying to slow down on collecting and just trying to enjoy what I got, it's easy to get a massive backlog of games that seem interesting to me and put them off forever. I figure it's just nice to have things that interest me for whenever I might be in the mood for them. That said I seem to just play Forza Horzion most of the time lol, probably because it's just so quick and easy to jump into and drive around for a few minutes.
