This car price sound right?

Was bored an emailed a nearby Honda dealer for the out the door price on a new 2022 accord EX, 1.5L engine with CVT

They emailed back with
43,062 dollars

Are prices that high now or is that just a bad dealer? Srs
Best lifts:
Bench press: 315x5
Squat: 465x1
Strict press: 205x5
Deadlift: 405x13 (conv tap'n'go with straps)

Look on Autotrader for your area. Autotrader shows 6 of those between 33-35k at my local dealer.

Yeah a google search shows the MSRP at 10k lower than the quote

A few thousand of that difference is going to be taxes and fees

But the other 8k diff. Is it "market adjustment" that I keep hearing about? Or are they adding in random chit like a pinstripe for 2k, floor mats for 1k etc?

There's no breakdown on the out the door price the dealer gave me

I know car buying right now is nuts, IDK if they are allowed to post above MSRP online or not at a factory dealer, I'd be curious if you can actually get off the lot for those prices right now, I really don't know.

msrp is 27k for an accord so sounds like you're getting the shaft and balls

Yeah, I've heard you are lucky if you can buy at MSRP now. Dealers adding "market adjustment" fees or adding random worthless chit to baloon the price up

If I go to local dealer and they play that game I call one of the dealers with it prices to sell on auto trader or whatever and tell the guy “xyz is trying to sell me this at >this much over msrp< and I want to buy the one you have online listed at that price listed.

They pretty much always honor the online price but sometimes have to wait a month or two for car to arrive.

I just looked at Accords by me and the exact model you posted is going for 28k. There isn’t a single one over 40 and the highest is a Touring model for 38.

They are trying to fuk you over srs.

I could never see myself spending 40k for a honda, I love Honda's but I'm also not stupid. If you can hold out on a car purchase for the right price I would wait and shop around
