The current system with Marriage was set up in a world that was a lot more boring. People were willing to accept more flaws and put the effort in to improve a significant other.

But nowadays, the benefit just isn't there. Most of the girls I meet aren't worthy of being a "project", and when I compare it to my single life, the single life wins every time. Having companionship is nice, and it is a nice distraction. But goddamn I wouldn't ever want to enter a bad relationship again.
