In the Letter, the FAA emergency revoked his license with immediate effect due to the stunt he pulled last autumn where he intentionally crashed his 1950 Taylorcraft Aircraft into a hillside in California. "

Would be nice if it crashed, started a fire, burned down someones property, gotten some animal killed and he sent to jail for arson and murder to teach him a lesson. You’d probably be asking a different question then.

Yeah but none of that happened. If any of it had happened, of course he would be held legally accountable. But he crashed his single-person plane at pretty low speeds and walked off. I guess he should foot the bill for the clean-up but I guess I don't see the actual problem.

Imagine him doing this over and over again or the number of copycats doing this dangerous stunt to the public for likes if he were not punished. Do you want to wait until someone gets killed before getting upset or his license revoked?

I am not sure if there were people around or not. I am not sure what altitude he was at when he jumped, but from the look of it, it was high enough for the aircraft to glide for miles and miles. There is no way he could have been close to controlling where it crashed. Even if there wasn't anyone at the crash site, the fact there could have been is enough.

When someone gets a DUI/DWI, do we let them go because they didn't crash, or if they did no one got hurt?
