It will be interesting to see how the Disney going woke turns out. I hope the tourists still come to the Orlando area. I'm going to guess that they will. Florida is the main state for warmth and sunshine during winter time not only for Americans but also Europeans and that is a big attraction for most.

Walt Disney World covers 39 square miles, consists of four theme parks, two water parks, a huge shopping/entertainment center, 31 huge resorts, a large sports complex, and all of the supporting infrastructure. I lol at people who are saying Disney should just leave Florida.

Was reading that it sounds like Disney's troubles are not over.
"The Rising Storm Disney Canโt Wish Away
Corporate activism exposes companies to costly legal action, as shareholders and employees surely notice. "
https://www.theamericanconservative....ant-wish-away/
excerpt:
Efforts by Disney executives to re-brand a company known for family entertainment into a political advocate for sex education in elementary schools and producer of sexualized content for children are taking the company into turbulent waters that may now go beyond irate parents to include shareholder actions, employee lawsuits, and civil rights violations.
On March 11, Disney CEO Bob Chapek steered the entertainment company into the political arena, proclaiming that a Florida law, which bans sex-ed in kindergarten through third grade and requires schools to notify parents about sexual issues related to their children, is โyet another challenge to basic human rights.โ Disney will henceforth work to โcombat similar legislation in other states,โ Chapek stated.
Simultaneous with this declaration, a Disney executive producer revealed her โnot-at-all-secret gay agendaโ of โadding queernessโ into childrenโs programming wherever possible. Disney also pledged to fight a Texas law that prohibits transgender surgeries on minor children.
Only 27 percent of Americans, however, agreed with Disneyโs position that โdiscussions of sexual orientation or gender identity should be legal in K-3 classroomsโ and polls consistently indicate that Americans support the provisions in Floridaโs law by a margin of two-to-one. In the wake of pushback from parents and with few other companies stepping up to join Disneyโs campaign, its executives have since gone quiet, perhaps hoping this episode might simply blow over. But shareholders, employees, and state officials are not letting it go so easily.
In retaliation for Disneyโs campaign against its laws, the Sunshine State revoked the special self-governing status that Disney World has enjoyed in Orlando for more than 50 years. And more storm clouds appear to be brewing on Disneyโs horizon.
In an April 5 letter on behalf of shareholders to Disneyโs board of directors, Reed Rubinstein, former deputy attorney general in the Trump Administration, demanded a corporate investigation into Chapekโs โwasting of corporate assets,โ including material harm to Disneyโs brand and reputation, as well as Disneyโs violation of employeesโ civil rights by fostering a discriminatory and hostile work environment.....

agreed Disney did not do this properly.
Chapek's first response was no response. and in the long run that would've been better - it certainly wouldn't have hurt them so badly. but he (or his people whatever) gave into the vocal minority demanding they take a stance on a very polarizing issue. so THEN they come out public about their "stance" but really it came off to me like they're being forced to do so. it certainly wasn't genuine.
FL and Disney will figure this out somehow. WDW is basically responsible for central Florida. that airport, the locals, even the competition coming there like Universal. It all goes back to Disney. Both sides need each other. this really hurts Chapek, who has not had a strong tenure with the company whatsoever especially compared to the previous regime.

Lol @ the billions and decades it would take to relocate disney world. Itll never happen.
Survival. When the jungle tears itself down and builds itself into something new. Guys like you and me, we end up dead. Doesnโt really mean anything. Or, if we happen to live through it, well that doesnโt mean anything either.

You can't even be serious, the billions and years of infrastructure investment and absolutely 100 of thousand businesses that would be destroyed that leach of them.
Just imagined that they gained that power in the 60's while being at 5% of their current wealth, control, and 'influence', DeSantis knows its a 'propaganda' move, you don't want to have the mouse as your enemy for your presidential bid.

Wonder who should be worried?
