Why is the rate of bodybuilder deaths so much higher than powerlifters/strongmen?

- Both medically obese
- Both abuse PED's
- Both consume unholy amounts of food

Only difference I see is the stim abuse with bodybuilders popping bottles of clen and chit

BBers have bigger followings. what event is there in those 2 other sports that even rival the olympia? also believe the dieting for shows for BB isnt good for health whereas powerlifters and strongmen just are fatcels.

It's common knowledge that powerlifters have a deep rooted beliefs in vaccines of all kind. Bodybuilders think they can beat a common cold on their own.

I'm not sure, but it may be due to a larger number of people who body build vs power lift? We would really need a proper statistical analysis to find out th exact percentage of dying bodybuilders vs powerlifters (i.e. x per y - where x is the number of casualties and y is the number of total participants).

My own (biased) opinion is that bodybuilders take way more drugs than powerlifters and that powerlifting prep is not as intense as bodybuilding shows - i'd always thought that powerlifters would take a bunch of stuff, eat a lot, and just train, whilst bodybuilders would take a whole LOAD of stuff and increase amounts even more during their prep to retain muscle.

You have to understand that when you're in the midst of it, you're no longer injecting a cc twice a week, you're just filling up a syringe and going HAM.

I think it's the shock of extreme cutting that causes a lot of bodybuilders to die prematurely (on top of taking massive amounts of drugs).

They both take large amounts of stuff. But IMO, you're right about the cutting. BB'ers take higher risk when they prep for a show.

I heard a doctor say if your 300 pounds of solid muscle or 300 pounds of fat , your heart doesn’t know the difference.
But I suspect it’s drugs more than anything .

I think it's the drugs that help you stay lean that do the most heart damage srs. Strength competitors probably cruise a lot more too versus Instagram bodybuilders who blast 24/7 to keep their followers happy.

It's what bodybuilders do to stay lean that hurts them more. "Bodybuilders" are probably more likely to do other drugs. Not competitive ones, but the ones who are just fitness influencers. Those people like the party lifestyle, are less disciplined. They might OD on some party drug.

As an enhanced lifter who knows people from both sides of the isle.

BBers:
-Use more gear.
-Use more dangerous cycles and include diuretics.
-Get super lean for shows.

I don't think people understand what kind of toll it takes on your body to be a show ready IFBB pro. I'm talking full celibate monk mode because your dick doesn't even get hard anymore during contest prep.

On top of that a lot of BBers that have had issues (not all) have abused 'recreational' drugs. Stimulants and pain killers.

I don't think small cycles that are intelligent done are inherently dangerous. But if you go all in its higher risk.

Because they prep for shows which is physically destroying, does more damage than the actual juice
