Why do people only talk about metal music and their pc specs?

Have to go back to my 9 to 5 I despise tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to this at all. Everybody at work always talks about metal music and their pc specs. Like wtf I've tried to talk about normal relatable stuff like poster malones and Netflix but people aren't just interested in that at all anymore.

Why is this and when did it all change? It didn't used to be like that.

and they only talk about how "these graphics look like real life", often in terms of trash games, with an occasional good game every once in a while.

something changed a while back.
