Walmart Waygu beef

There is a weird anomaly going on right now at walmart neighborhood market where the price their waygu ground beef and bison is basically the same price as regular old 80/20. its basically stayed the same, $6 or so a lb, while the price of regular beef is going up and up. The steaks are the same way, they are still a little higher but really not bad considering the superior marbling and flavor of the wagu cuts.
If you have never tried this, its pretty good! I know its not real Kobe beef from japan, but there is defiantly a taste and difference between it and the regular steaks.

Really good. especially on the leaner cuts like strip and filet. the marbling is awesome so they have a lot more flavor. the ribeyes are better too, but even a cheap ribeye has a lot of fat so the difference isn't as noticeable. the texture and flavor of the meat is noticeably better though.

Anybody can put a grass-fed or an organic sticker on anything and bump the price up by $5.

I was there at the beginning. I worked out at delray fitness back when it was a golds, early/mid 2000s. Big lenny and i used to chat and spot each other. I am friends with people who went to school with Jason. before he was a on youtube he used to do spinning kicks in the middle of the gym and scream on every rep. He used to talk my ear off about how he was going to be a pro body builder ext. He worked at the Harps across the street and would follow me around the store when i went in for food.
more than once he handed me a phone in the locker room and ask me to take a nearly nude picture of him. weird little dude.

American Wagyu =/= Japanese A5 Wagyu. I'm not even talking about Kobe. The best American Wagyu still tastes nothing like Miyazaki, Kobe, Kagoshima etc. If you want real Wagyu go to Costco and spend $200 on two steaks - much cheaper than restaurant pricing but you get the real deal with the melt in your mouth quality of actual Wagyu. I get them a couple of times per month.
