Descendants of slaves can now SUE descendants of slaves owners

Just watched an "Atlanta" episode with Childish Gambino where this episode came up. In thus universe the Supreme Court allowed a slave descendant to sue the CEO of Tesla, due to him having a better "head start" from the positives from slavery.. this opened the doors for regular citizens to be sued as well


What would you do if this happened in our timeline.. would you be checking your ancestry to make sure this wouldn't happen to you? Move out the country? Or acknowledge your privilege and your family and descendants will be fine, since they truly would have a "pull up your bootstraps" story

In California aren't they going to pay reparations to blacks who can prove their ancestors were used as slaves? I think they encountered a major flaw though...how does one prove that their ancestors were used as slaves?

Every single person in existence is a descendent from a slave so who cares? I don't understand why the US pretends slavery didn't exist in literally every culture and country throughout history and still does in the Middle East and Africa today.

The whole reparations debate is fundamentally retarded and mostly because of the amount of time passed since slavery. Should freed slaves have gotten reparations? Yes. Absolutely. Maybe even their children. But we’re 160 years past the injustice. Nobody alive today is responsible for inhuman practices of the 19th century nor is anyone alive a victim of them. Plus, how would you even identify who deserves reparations? All black people? Well what about 1st generation Nigerian immigrants who were not descended from the African slave trade? What about mixed race Caribbean blacks like Kamala Harris? What about blacks married to white people? In that scenario, by default, you’d be giving money directly to the people you’re intending to take from since a married couple is one.

There’s no logical way to do it, therefore it should not be done. Investing in communities and educating people would do far more than cutting checks anyway. Trump’s Platinum Plan would’ve been fkin amazing but instead we got Xiden.
