Guy was wanted for stealing catalytic converters, makes a u-turn in a culdesac, cop shoots at the car because he thinks he's going to get run over even though its pretty obvious the guy was just going around the trailer

I don't disagree with the sentiment but make a judgment call before you take action.

You're in a residential neighborhood and you fired 5 shots (that missed) with a house in the backdrop. Over theft of a car part, then he crashed into a parked car somehow, not sure how you do that. Just straight up incompetence

Firstly, it should be legal to shoot cat converter thieves, but it isn't. If there is a gang of men with baseball bats sawing off pieces of your car, you are forced by law to watch like a little cuck because your life is not under threat.

Secondly, you have no clue what the perp was thinking, and that is likely what the cop's lawyer will argue. "Pretty obvious" is a big stretch in that moment when some **** is flooring a turn towards your direction.

1. If he was not out stealing none of this would have happened.
2. If he had not run from the police causing a high speed chase this wouldn't have happened.
3. If he had complied this wouldn't have happened.

In a perfect world we wouldn't have scumbag criminals fleeing from cops and causing mayhem as a result but since it's reality I'll take my chances that statistically there's a higher chance of innocents dying from fleeing scumbags broadsiding them rather than stray bullets from a police shooting.
