Being nice to kids does work.
Story time.
Around age 10, my family had this white guy and his white gf come to our house. No clue how he found us. I think he was around 20 though.
This guy spoke fluent Vietnamese. And he was one of the nicest person I've ever met. The only thing I recall from his visits was that he told me I could be anything when I go grow and do what I wanted, something along that line. He said this in English.
To this day, Im more inspired by what he said than when he said it at the time. Because I was only a kid. But his words did have a lasting impact.
He should be in his forties by now. I wonder how I might find him
