Anyone lift while sick?

I have covid and im debating if I should just rest just incase if lifting somehow makes it worse. Feels less than a normal cold. I feel I can power through it. I have a home gym so I won’t be getting anyone else sick.

I normally lift while sick and just dial it back a little. With Covid it's different. I would give yourself a couple of days to completely rest, then ease back into lifting. This is based on personal experience and from a few others I know who tried to push through Covid.

Can confirm, I lifted while I had "covid". Thought it was a hangover from night before, got a good workout in too.

Was literally that 1 day of a 99 degree temp for like 6 hours, lmao

I actually am out on sick/admin leave due to COVID and I tried to gym earlier and I was EXHAUSTED so much easier than normal. I felt ok when I first started but halfway through my energy was completely sapped.

I'd def recommend dialing it back if you're gonna do it

I never work out when even the slightest bit sick. You aren’t going to get a good workout in and/or see any gains, but you will prolong your sickness and delay recovery. It’s all mental. Missing the gym for a few days won’t set you back, especially when it means getting back to 100% faster.

think I'm just going to take it light. If it feels bad I'll stop.

No point lifting if sick. You'll do a lame work out and it'll take longer to recover from the illness

This. I used to ALWAYS workout when I was sick. More often than not, I stayed sick for weeks. Ever since I started skipping the gym entirely when I was sick, I've recovered in legitimately a quarter of the time I used to. I also never lose anything from taking a couple days or even a week off. In the past, I lost more gains trying to push it when I was sick. It's not worth it, OP.

I prefer light cardio/going for a 30-60 minute walk. That's what I did when I had Covid.

Rub some dirt on it.
Screw nature; my body will do what I DAMN WELL tell it to do!

The only dangerous thing about an exercise is the person doing it.

Take a week and focus on recovery maxing everything.

Use some energy and do cleaning and or organizing house and personal items.

Don't be lazy. But dial it way back. Covids a creeper and will hang on.

with the shortness of breaths from it I had to go a month off running and just mild lifting it sucked ass so if you do lift maybe don't go as intense as you usually would? Go for volume over max weight? idk you're an adult lmao

Fortunately, never too sick to skip training for decades.

Not for everyonebut if it's mild then high body temperature caused by exercise within reason helps your body to fight the virus.

I'm a home-gym crew too so even if it's COVID there's no possibility to harm anyone except for myself.

Listen to your body and take it slow or skip a few workouts, for missing a few workouts won't affect your life in the long run.

Good luck.

Had covid in March. Only missed 1 workout and that was squats because I was too congested.

Also home gym crew. I didn't go anywhere in public for 12 days.

I hit a PR on my first day of covid

After that my neck hurt too much so I just stayed home and played video games for a couple days

Pretty much 100% after that aside from nose feeling a little funny
