5/13 lifting thread

Alright bros, it's Friday.

What're ya'll doing in the gym today?

I've got Chest+Legs today.

Pairing my tied-for-favorite muscle group (legs) with my least favorite (chest) has made me way more consistent with hitting my chest instead of just ignoring it.

For anybody who prefers programs in between Full Body and Bro Split (So things like Upper/Lower, PPL, Anterior/Posterior, etc.) I highly recommend doing it this way if there is a certain bodypart you really hate to hit.

So what're ya'll doing today?

Reps to 3 random people ITT who are lifting today (Cardio, rest days, BW stuff, etc. are all good and have their place, but I gotta limit my rep-giving somehow so miscers moving weights will get my 3 reps).

What is your pullup progression set up like? Sets, reps, addition of reps/weight/etc.?

I don't see the point in adding weight since as you gain weight it gets harder to do them

I doubt i'll ever be able to get more than 12 unless i get lean

How much weight do you plan to gain though? And then if you cut later on then you might get some more reps but adding weight would offset the cut weight.

Just some thoughts. When I was in the 175-205 range I would add 50+lbs and rep it out. But then I quit doing pullups and got fat at the same time so now I'm working on upping my pullup game again lol. Feelsbadman.jpg to only be able to do like 5 BW pullups per set. Working hard recently on improving it though.

Today was a rest day for me. I always hate it, but they are necessary.

Legs in the morning.

it's funny you mention that - today is the first day I am ever going to pull sumo. There is a Ukranian deadlift in a comp I am prepping for and sumo more closely matches that

Heavy bench day. I have a double at 555 and then if I feel good I'll go up to a 1 rep max. If I'm still feeling good after that, 585 off a 3-board for a bunch of reps (last week I did 8x565)

Back and Triceps today. Since I work out at home, I keep it simple. Just good old dumbbell rows and skull crushers.

My plan is to gain 10 lbs slowly over the next 3-4 months and get 225x8 on bench and 12 pullups

Yeah i can only do 7 pullups now because i quit but now i'm liking them since the movement feels more natural and i'm getting stronger on them

I think i can get 8 or 9 easily today

I just don't see the point in weighted especially since i got injured doing them a couple years ago

Low-incline DB press (~20 degrees of incline)
High-box weighted step-ups (explosive/acceleration singles, 10*1 per side)

Gonna rep three randoms in here now.
