Shipping a package at UPS...they ask for my ID and whats inside?

Is this normal? I was mailing an optic for my gun back to the store. The clerk asked to see my ID and asked what was inside my package. I thought that was illegal?

Yes, it's completely normal. They want to know who's shipping it, and the content of the package. If they didn't have that type of procedure in place people would ship all types of illegal crap cross country. Some do slip through the cracks, but they're just trying to asses the liability of your package.

Normal. It's just quicker for him to ask what's inside than it is to ask about all the things that are not supposed to be in there. Which is how most of them do it.

I sell a lot of drugs and have to ship them even across borders to the US.

I always just say "supplements."

Not sure what you're pushing but I sell coke and this is the best bet for me

If you're selling weed maybe just say it's clothing - not sure if you're pushing pounds at a time or not but just air seal it and you're gucci.

And I use UPS or fedex - no real preference tbh

Cheers

it's not just illegal items but flammable items like lithium batteries have to shipped differently

and the ID might just be for verification in case there is a claim made

UPS and FedEx can open your chit at any time and check it out. USPS you can send whatever you want within the country and unless they have a strong suspicion it's drugs or a bomb, they cannot legally open it.
