My neighbor is a 65yo lady that lives alone. She is a hoarder. The house is so bad that she now lives in her RV on the side driveway. Crazy...... for some reason i feel like it would be a lot of fun going through all her sht. Would need a gas mask most likely.

It's not good stuff, though.

I have like 10 empty egg cartons that are in the way on my kitchen counter top, but my arms can't throw them away.

I have a hard time letting things go but at some point I get tired of it and start clearning out.

Two things changed me away from hording:

1. Last time I moved. Holy hell why do I need all this crap?
2. My ex. Her dad and mom have died. She wants to keep everything. Just tons of stuff she will never be able to use. What's worse is she just stuck it in my basement or the spare bedroom and never touched it. When we spit it came to me scheduling a Junk Removal service to get her to come get it, which really involved more or less me moving it, but the point is it's gone. This has prompted me to get rid of a lot more of my stuff.

Used to horde like crazy, which sucked every time I moved. Marie Kondo's "does it bring you joy?" question put chit in perspective. Chit weighs me down, is literally in the way of the actual thing I'm looking for, and causes guilt for not using thing or doing something with it. Instead of throwing chit away I now see it as optimizing, feels good mayne.
Virtue is its own reward.

I tried that shyt. much harder than it looks unless your stuff is garbage...ie has no resale value. ive tried for a long time...maybe best to just blindly throw shyt out.


so much of my stuff is cool stuff that is hard to sell for whatever reason. I had this chair below that I had listed on craigslist for 5 years before it sold ...vintage Powell skateboard chair 20 years old. sucks having a bunch of stuff...this chair is huge too...took up so much room and uncomfortable as fuk. finally someone bought it for 250.

Wow, that chair lol. I've got a lot of chit that still hanging around with super limited uses as well, specialty tools and hobby equipment. They're in my "ignore it and maybe they'll walk away on their own" box since I know I ain't gonna sell that chit and it's too painful to toss perfectly good stuff away. Maybe goodwill hmm....
