Nice house chitty area

Wood you rather live in a decked out house that's cheap in a chitty area or a nice area but chitty house? The chitty area is not surrounded by gangbangers, just lots of lower income folks

I already live in a nice area in a somewhat crappy house. I don't lock my doors at night and I leave my back door propped open all day for the dogs while I'm at work. Once Jamal starts moving in, I'm out.

Sorta the same. Definitely don't have the nicest house in our little area but it's woods all around. I don't think no gang bangers would care to be where im at. Especially knowing that all the neighbors out gun them no matter what they bring. One well placed .308 > spray n pray w/ yo choppas

There shouldnt be 2 seconds of thought on this one. Nice are crappy area every time. The house can easily be upgraded, the area cannot.

Unless the decked out house was basically a fortress with 10 foot wall, barbed wire, heavy triple locked door...I would chose the crappy house in the nice area. You would enjoy a better quality of life, most likely have friendlier neighbours, would feel safer walking the streets etc.

I live in a really nice town outside Chicago. I bought the house just after my divorce, so I didn't have a lot of money to spend. Now living there for 7 years, I'm not sure why I would move. Everything I want including access to Lake Michigan is here, the schools are top tier and that matters for resale. My house is just under 2K sq ft, and I have a 1300 sq ft basement with my gym in it, and it's on 1/2 acre. It has bedrooms for my kids. If I ever get married again, I will either put another level on it or move, but given what has happened with the real estate market, right now my best move would be a second level.

There's a big range of low income. Some are fine while others not at all. I think I would prefer higher income areas in most cases.
