New Ricky Gervais special "SuperNature" - thoughts?

I went online after watching it and typed it in and saw a bunch of news headlines about how it's 'violence' lmao. Same old claims. Words are literally violence. Anti-trans everything because of a few dick jokes.

I always liked Gervais. Found the special pretty funny and he had me laughing pretty good at certain bits. It's obvious he does this for fun and doesn't really care about the outcome. Dude is probably worth so much he could just sit in his house for the next 20 lifetimes and not have to work a day in his life. It's always refreshing to witness artists that have no financial shackles. With no financial concern, you can maintain integrity. Same with musicians.

I'd recommend you watch the entire thing then. It's refreshing to hear someone who doesn't give a fuk. It's also funny to hear really dark humour these days when everyone gets triggered by everything - both left and right side of the extreme spectrum.

I enjoyed it.

It's plain to see that he's a troll and wants to get people going over nothing. It's the oldest "stick and stones but words can never hurt me" thing that most everyone knows.

Like you've said, it seems that all of his jokes are meant to attack people who are going to be shocked by them. He doesn't seem to generally tell funny stories for the rest of us.

I have always liked his remarks when I've seen him host shows and enjoyed this.

With that being said, I can't imagine someone telling a joke that I flip out about. So, I would like to see who is reacting. Are they teen girls or mental patients?

That's what I like about him, it's the genuineness and integrity. It's the same thing as a musician that has built a devote following by word of mouth and always sticking to what they want to write, not acquiescing to public demand or record company pressures (what people would define as 'selling out'). I think as an artist you need to be quite selfish in order for your art to be really genuine.

Just watched it last night, thought it was hilarious. I find it interesting that he addressed exactly what you said regarding words being violence lol. Died laughing at the "You won't ever find a 10 year old tweet saying "Ladies don't have penises", even if it's so true it isn't funny
