Canadian brahs what are the must see things in Montreal?

Going to spend a couple weeks in the Montreal_Quebec area in late summer. Haven't heard much about Montreal other than its nice and clean.

I heard there's a cool botanical garden so I'm checking that out for sure. What other things would you recommend, preferably not tourist traps filled with instagramer npcs.

I generally love flea markets with old junk and stuff like thar are there any cool ones over there?

Also open for goat food recommendations and so on

Not sure how many times I've been to Montreal over the last 35+ years. Went to La Ronde and the botanical gardens in high school, St Catherine Street bars and strip clubs in college, Old Montreal, Montreal Expos games, Canadiens games, etc. Most spoke French first. Maybe it's different where you go though.

I used to travel from NYC to Montreal every month when the company I worked for had a home office there. I really enjoy it up there.

Most people 80% will greet you in English. If they start speaking in French then you just ask them to speak English and they oblige.

Try to steer clear schools, political gatherings and mosques too. Might be another mass shooting.
