What was the last topic you researched/learned something about

The last country I read about was Finland, after hearing about their military.

I read up about American school shootings after that incident in Texas (columbine mostly).

I always like info on wood/metalworking or electronics. I want to learn how to make rings out of coins, that might be my next tangent.

Bicycle infrastructure in the netherlands.... The ways it benefits children, traffic, mental health, economy, and business.

blows my mind that places like LA dont start building this type of infrastructure.

Constantly reading and learning but latest today was research on bearded dragons. My 10 year old wants one so I’m looking into it. No experience caring for reptiles so I’m starting at square one

CIA's MK Ultra program was an illegal human experimentation program on brainwashing and torture. It was created in response to finding out about the Soviet Union's own torture and brainwashing methods. A lot of it was to continue the work of the Nazi's and the torture programs that the Japanese did during WWII specifically Unit 731. (Though this used to test medical, biological and chemical warfare)

LSD was the main drug of use. The CIA would use different organizational fronts to capture their victims - both Americans and Candadians. Mostly college students.

The CIA did have secret centers throughout Europe and East Asia.

But other methods were also used such as hypnosis and electroshock therapy, etc...

Operation Midnight Climax used prostitutes to lure unsuspecting men to "CIA safe houses" where experiments would take place.

Hawkins Lab from Stranger Things is loosely based on MK Ultra. The Manchurian Candidate is a famous pop culture reference.

I haven't done super deep dives but I've been looking into how you can make your own perpetual motion magnet generator. Turns out there are several varieties, not including whatever Nikola Tesla did with drawing electricity from air.





These aren't the best videos that describe in detail or demonstrate but you get the idea. I'd like to scale one of these up for my house.

One of the only things I recall from high school science was electricity and circuits. Definitely interesting stuff.
