I'm almost 27 and I spent all day in bed sleeping away my hangover... I feel absolutely disgusting about myself, like I'm a degenerate. I think it's time for me to stop going out srs

Just before 30. Probably was 28?
It just gets boring.

It's stupid.
I will have a couple once in awhile but I tend to do that at very fun bars good for music or people watching. However, even three drinks makes me tired and then that evening I don't feel like doing my hobbies.
Having hangovers is a bad idea and a massive waste of time. Also, your body is telling you something and you aren't listening.

Right around 30
At 38, I can't even have the equivalent of 2 shots of liquor without a hangover. I don't drink often but when I do it's Guiness because it doesn't give me a hangover or scotch because it's worth the hangover.

Late 20s. Friends started moving away and/or getting married like me and my wife. Clubs and bars lose their luster when you aren't trying to meet people or hang out with friends. We had better stuff to do with all of our couple friends that didn't leave us hung over.
Now, I'll still grab a beer and a burger at a bar, but I'm not there to get drunk or party. Clubs not even once.

It lost its excitement by 21....
22/23/24 i dabbled but not much.
After that, RIP party life. Started going to bed at 8pm which means day drinking if anything at all.

Probably 25. Although I never really particularly liked going to them even when I was younger.
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

I never really stopped but I rarely ever go. None of my friends like going and I'm not gonna go by myself so I don't go. One of my co-workers celebrated his birthday at an 80's club a few weeks back, and I went to that one. But only had a few drinks because I had to work the next day.

my drinking phase started when I was 21 and ended when I was like 22-23. I was always more into smoking mj and to this day prefer it to anything else, it's a million times better.
alcohol is terrible for you obviously, and being around drunk people gets old fast. I went to a bunch of bars/club/music festivals/raves/etc with friends so I've been around a lot of annoying/crazy/degenerate people. fuk that chit. alcohol is dumb, and it makes dumb people even less tolerable to be around, it makes angry people even more angry, it makes slooty chicks even more slooty and clingy and weird.
I'd rather just chill at home or with a few friends at the park/beach/nature trail/etc. do some bike riding, skating, hiking, etc. Even attending some random ******** group meetup for whatever activity is better, you can make better friends and meet better girls that way. you can have so much more fun doing healthy/safe activities and not regret it later. I only have a few drinks every year on special occasions and I spend most of my time sober, and the money saved is great, but so is my physical and mental health, and I like being around people/friends who aren't constantly seeking or dependent on substances.

When covid started (srs). So around 33.
I stopped going to bar with friends regularly in my late 20's. Then it was just once every month or two. Around that same time I started going out with co.workers every week or two.
Once covid started started I kept drinking (ironically more) but just at home.
Now, in my mid 30's and post covid most of my friends have kids or moved and I WFH so no co worker outings.

I'm nearly 27 and still go out on the weekends. Doing a little better these days about sticking to my rules though - don't get too pharked up, drink a liquid IV before going to bed, don't flirt with waitresses/bartenders.
