My friends parents did that, they sold their place in febuary for 1.4 and moved in with their daughter. They think they sold at the top and will be able to re buy a home at a discount after the crash. They also want to down size because now that their kids are grown they no longer need a 4 bedroom

Sounds like a good plan. Who cares if your monthly payment is higher? You probably have $300k in the bank now, and now have money to move anywhere.

Misc is going to crucify you for this decision.

Meanwhile all of them will brag about how much their house is worth despite all the money being tied up in it and never actually seeing a dime of it because they need to live in it.

Enjoy your money OP. Good time to cash out (srs). If things do drop you'll make out bigly.
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."
