from the trailer it looks like they are trying to mix in too many elements, probably won't do the quality of the movie any good

The concept actually has potential, if they went with an apocalypto type movie with characters speaking native and mean male leads.

Haven’t liked a predator movie since the original one. Why they keep pumping out these B rated style movies idk. The whole concept should be easy to make quality films with but they make it lame.

It revolves around an entirely unneeded "girl-power" slant and is undoubtedly going to picture the White men as brutal, dirty, savages who get killed like idiots, probably after kidnapping the girl and planning to gang-rape her. And on the one hand, fair enough - virtually all civilisationshaveseen men as stronger and the hunters vs women staying at home and being weaker, and virtually all conquering peopleshavedefiled foreign lands and women. I bet the woman is going to be unreasonably skilled/fast/strong and wow her male counterparts with how well she performs. I don't know the last time I watched a movie where a woman went into a fight against a man and got her ass handed to her.

It's just that it's yet more force-feeding ofTHE MESSAGEthat makes it so tiresome.

I have doubts they could pull it off in cinema, especially with all the restrictions imposed by modern culture. But I think it would be pretty cool if they could go the Machiko Noguchi route from the ALiens Vs Predator comic books from back in the day and have the Predator clan take her in as one of their own.

The girl power, strong female lead in an action film can be done. Remember Kill Bill, Resident Evil, Underworld, Alien Resurection? Granted all those movies came out 20 years ago in a different age.

The Alien franchise as a whole was founded on Ripley almost 30 years ago. I agree, it can be done, and done well.

Would love to see this tied in to the original with Billy, or the girl they rescued who talked about the mythology / legend of the Predator.

It not being released in Cinemas. It's being exclusively released on Hulu since Disney now owns Hulu and the Predator franchise.
