Credit cards

With inflation hitting, and going to get worse, along with general recession/depression, is it time to max out our credit cards? Our buying power now is the highest it's going to be for a long time.

One should never max out, that leads to getting into debt and will get hard to get out of especially due to inflation.

One should always pay the full balance every time it's due.

The advice I would give people is if we're heading into a period of economic downturn get your debts and monthly obligations as low as possible to deal with the potential downward pressure on income. Lean out now and stand a chance at minimizing the hit to your standard of living.

Maxing out only makes sense if you figure your financial position in an upcoming recession/depression is going to be so poor that bankruptcy is an inevitability.

maybe if you also plan to have your wages outpace inflation as well. Though it is kind of interesting I ust got an offer from my bank to upgrade my credit card and they are offering "no interest until 2024". Haven't really looked into it or read the brochure, not sure if there is a catch.

The catch is usually interest accrues, but doesn't apply if you pay it off by 2024. The other cool gotcha is you will pay off any new debt first, so if you plan on using the card regularly, you will likely pay those 2 years of interest. Make the balance 0 before 2024 and you're good.

Try and let us know how things turn out OP
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."
