Any brahs have a vinyl collection?

Have about 30 records so far, definitely something about it sounds better and it’s cool to own the music and each one usually has a special insert or something.

Got some old live alive in chains shows which you can’t find on any streaming services and such. Anyone else?

Vinyl doesn't photograph too well.

I have a bit of everything. Except punk, polka and yodeling. Can't stand that sht.

My rarest or most collectable records would be original Jimmy Hendrix pressings like Into the west.. I think that was sold as a bootleg.





I use Imgbb to upload pics, then embed (BB code full linked).

Vinyl is a great way to discover new music, if you are just starting out I would recommend checking local thrift stores and buying every compilation you can find.

I have about a thousand. I wanna get rid of it but its difficult. Local record stores rip you off and selling online seems a hassle with risk of them breaking.

all my stuff is pristine but I don't really care. better to have music that is easily listenable (aka spotify) than the biggest clunky record collection.

honestly it seems like this "hobby" is for autists.

I have a beautiful collection, Roughly 3800 Pieces, All with outer sleeves and cleaned on my VPI 16.5 Record cleaner. Alphabetized and in a floor to ceiling storage compartments i had made after using Kallax shelves forever.

I run A Technics SL - 1100A and Two Technics SL 1200 MK2's As my primary TT's.

I have some nice Pioneer Reel to Reels as well RT 707 / 909

Yes, I have about 80 of them. I started buying them for the same reasons as OP, something about them sounds better and the artwork is cool to look at.

Sadly I don't play them anymore because there are too many easier options for listening to music now. It seems like too much effort to go through the process of playing them with so many easier options available.

Yes, I have quite an extensive collection of hundreds of vinyl. I began collecting them as a kid, finding them in thrift shops everywhere. That grew into a pretty sizeable collection. Once I discovered online shopping, I began buying new records being produced by the many bands I was into. I had a setup in the basement where I'd sit and listen to the record on vinyl when it dropped. I actually have a ton of sealed vinyl, limited edition, picture discs, colored vinyl, etc. I always loved that format. It really feels like you're getting a lot of value for your money. I also consider music as an art form that does not stop at the composition but extends well into the packaging. You have to put thought and effort into what the packaging will look like. A vinyl is so tangible, something you can hold and smell like a painting.

I bought the majority of my vinyls for 25 cents a piece when people were just getting rid of them in the 90s/early 2000s. I got Dark Side of the Moon and some Marillion vinyl for a quarter each.
*Look at reflection in car window and flex every time crew*
*Use half the roll to wipe after a poo crew*
*Fart in the gym and blame rotten smell on faulty ventilation crew*
*Fart at home and blame it on the dog crew*
*Watch neutron-star density poop mock me as water flushes around it and it stays put crew*
*Drive 2 minutes in the summer and back of shirt gets completely wet crew*
*Coffee black as midnight on a moonless night crew*
*Fat shame my cat on a daily basis crew*

Alot of the older records go into great detail about how the music was recorded and the equipment used. It's really interesting. Especially records from the 50s-60s when stereo sound was new and exciting, and again in the 70's when quadraphonic sound was on trend.
