Ukrainian troops are suffering massive losses as they are outgunned 20 to one in artillery and 40 to one in ammunition by Russian forces, according to new intelligence painting a bleak picture of the conflict on the frontline.

A report by Ukrainian and Western intelligence officials also reveals that the Ukrainians are facing huge difficulties responding to Russians shelling with their artillery restricted to a range of 25 kilometres, while the enemy can strike from 12 times that distance.

For the first time since the war began, there is now concern over desertion. The report, seen by The Independent, says the worsening situation in the Donbas, with up to a hundred soldiers being killed a day, is having “a seriously demoralising effect on Ukrainian forces as well as a very real material effect; cases of desertion are growing every week”.

At the same time, as the Russians capture territories in the east, and consolidate their control over the seized cities of Mariupol and Kherson, the bargaining position of the Ukrainian government is being weakened by acute disparity in the numbers of prisoners being held by each side.

The total number of Russian soldiers being held by Ukraine has fallen to 550 from 900 in April after a series of exchanges. Moscow meanwhile has more than 5,600 Ukrainian troops in captivity, the figure enlarged by the surrender of 2,500, including members of the Azov Battalion, in Mariupol.

So far Russia lost more soldiers in 3 months than the USSR did in 10 years in Afghanistan.

Also Ukraine is getting more weapons everyday and have lend lease, this war is far from over.

also russia has lost lots of military equipment and soldiers, they wont be able to take on any wars the next 10 years after this one.
they wont be able to team up with china.

How can it be a loss for the West when the West never actually gave a sh/t about Ukraine in the first place? Let's keep it 100% real: Ukraine has always been nothing more than a pawn used to annoy Russia, just like Afghanistan was used as a pawn during the Soviet-Afghan War.

The destruction of Ukraine, food shortages (Ukraine a major wheat exporter), gas shortages and destabilization has always been the objective.

The West is getting exactly what it wants. Zelensky is playing his part exactly as scripted, dude is gonna retire a billionaire and win a Nobel Peace Price while Ukrainian men get slaughtered and Ukrainian women and children permanently settle in Germany and undergo Germanization.

Well europeans do care to some extend. Also ukrainers dont want to be part of russia. ukraine was getting richer then russia, they wanted to be more like west europe.


The influx of white ukrainers into europe isn't that bad either. it can lead to stricter immigrant rules, and keeps europe a bit more white.

So if you have no chance of winning something you should just keep fighting until the enemy renders you incapable of fighting? You shouldn't negotiate for peace with them so that you can continue to exist? That's not being manly, it's being absolutely insane and evil. The Ukrainians (and Americans) who were forcing their own people to continue to march to their deaths with no hope of winning in order to fight for some idea need to all be executed or gulag'ed. Especially when that enemy wants to incorporate you into its own nation and isn't trying to genocide you or even steal from you.

I hope that all Ukrainians nazis suffer the same fate as the German nazis who attempted to drive their people to extinction because they had it their head that a nation needs to fight to the death or else it is weak and unworthy of living. As well as all American/international groups who tried to increase the amount of fighting just to slow down Putin.

Look pal, you can't try to target, disenfranchise, censor, and eliminate an entire demographic without there being consequences. Not Chadimir's Russia. Western puppet Gorbachev decided to pull out of Afghanistan. The war wasn't an invasion of a country either, so they weren't trying to "beat Afghanistan". It was just the soviets helping the Afghan government fight rebels. The government still retained power for a few years after the Soviets left

The only way to end the conflict is for both sides to go back to the status quo and maybe do a Kosovo-type solution where Donbas and Luhansk are made into an independent protectorate under UN control. But as long as Ukraine has US/NATO backing and support, there is no reason for them to stop fighting and neither will Russia because it is a matter of pride for them and national security as well.
