How many investment firms can maintain an 7% ROI in the market during a recession?

Are there are any investment firms that can maintain a 7% return in the market during a recession?

Seems to me that a lot of investment firms are going to be experiencing negative returns along with amateur investors as well.

Hopefully the pelosi family can give out investment advice since they’ve been able to become mega millionaires on an honest civil servant salary by continuing to always outperform even the best investment firms

Recession does not necessarily mean you cannot play the market.

I'm sure many conservative firms can offer lower returns with low volatility. With inflation these might look closer to 7% nominal.

Lol true. One could pull 20% returns during a recession.

Sure you can still play the market, but I highly doubt any investment firm would do better than an amateur investor, return wise in a recession.

If the market is down 19% for the year, there’s no way the investment firm is pulling 7% for the year, they would have to be outperforming the market by 26%.

The best an investment firm could hope for is instead of being down 19% like the market is, that they’re only down 14%.

Still losing 8% a year though due to inflation.

Investment firms will try hard to keep you from pulling out your investments so not only do you lose whatever the market is losing, but even more since they’ll stick you with a fee for managing the fund.
