I had never really heard about "Juneteenth" celebrations in the United States until the last few years, and this is the first time I've actually been here in June in probably... six or seven years?
Anyway, quite a weird thing to see for the first time tbh. I grew up on the west coast and knew what Juneteenth was, but I had never really heard of people celebrating it (inb4 no black friends jfl @ u, no brah I knew black kids growing up).
Now it's like a national celebration where the entire country apparently celebrates blackness (?) and how far blacks have come since slavery (going from the enslaved, and therefore the poorest caste in American society to now, free but still the poorest caste in American society) even though, I believe, the origin story of the holiday is celebrating the day that the Union Army reached Galveston, TX to inform the final enslaved blacks that they were free. So... the root event is black and white people (but mostly white), serving in the Union Army together, reaching the last group of enslaved blacks and effectively freeing them, thus celebrating the liberation from bonds of all people in the United States, and now it's just a celebration of black culture writ large and a reminder that whitey is evil.
America is so obsessed with sucking black people's dick just lmfao. You'd think black people were phucking 80% of American society lmfaoo. I honestly cannot even imagine such a narcisscistic group of people as to not be repulsed by such blatant pandering (realize this is not all blacks ofc) but the more America goes down this rabbit hole and-- rather than leveling the scales, it seems that black culture largely relishes this adulation and the mainstream current is to say, 'you still aren't doing even close to enough' even though more has never been done in the history of humankind.

It's the latest virtue signal for women to celebrate on social media I guess.

Misc is just especially triggered and salty due to the civil/political/racial unrest that has been artificially created.
