Selling food made by others on Doordash?

The unit economics for a Dark kitchen seem attractive and a hassle free side hustle if you are not even making the food. Let me share an example:

- get a cheesecake from costco for $15
- make 10 slices, sell it on doordash for $10 each
- costs are $1.5 + $2 fees, so $65 USD profit

Just put on a nice digital brand and hire some illegal mexican for $3/hr to run the delivery operation

Question though, are you allowed to do that by selling food out of your own house and not even being a restaurant?

I would think doordash would require you to be a real restaurant that is rated by health codes or whatever.

OP probably got this idea while browsing their bottom friendly menu

Not sure, but you are allowed to operate from a dark/ghost/virtual kitchen which means renting a small place at a Cloudkitchen locations (Travis Kalanicks company). Same thing, srs

Factor rent into the costs or get your warehouse up to code, anything works man

You most likely have to abide by health codes and certifications, rent a cloud kitchen space, next barrier?
