My parents both have Covid, after my Mom's heart attack and stroke, and I may have it

There was an outbreak at my Mom's long-term nursing facility of Covid, so now my Dad has it, my Mom has it, and I've been visiting her at the nursing home, although with an N95 mask, but I have cold symptoms so I may have it. I tested negative Friday night, but I just emailed my Dr. about taking a real test at their office.

All of us are at high risk but my parents are worse with old age and they have diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and then of course my Mom just had the major stroke and heart attack.

I just tested for pre-diabetes in March and I'm overweight, especially with a lot of muscle from cell tech. Even muscle can strain your heart and body, even though I've lost a lot of body fat this past year. I'm taking a fat burner and doing IF.

How can this get worse? All you can do is laugh I guess?!!!

Yeah it really sucks. If it is it’s probably omnicron so it’s really not a big as a deal anymore. Deaths and hospitalization has been going down even though infections are way higher.

Yeah I'm not as worried about myself. I'm mostly worried about my Mom as I can't believe she survived a stroke AND a heart attack, but she's not doing so well at the nursing home. She's barely eating and refusing most physical therapy. My Dad is also high-risk.

Oh interesting. I mostly have symptoms of a sinus infection as I've had a cold for the past week that got better on Wednesday but then returned.

Covid is the new flu. Those who got immunity should be fine, but new variants will keep spreading asymptomaticly until they reach those who have been hiding out or whose immunity wanes. Flu is also going around.

Sad that so many things are out to get us. Feels like societal collapse if it is your family in the fire.

Well my parents didn't take care of themselves. They ate fast food daily and wouldn't listen to my advice about improving their diet and my Mom never exercised. Luckily my Dad is an exercise addict but he can barely walk after running 10 miles a day, 7 days a week for years. His knees, ankles and feet are a mess. They have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes and a whole list of other symptoms.

So that's my main concern is that they have a huge list underlying conditions with Covid.

Thank you!

I slept 14 hours yesterday with a sore throat and congestion. I really wanted to go for a hike with a mask yesterday but I'll go today. I hate missing a day of exercise.

It's scary how nursing homes get wiped out with Covid. My Mom already isn't eating much and doesn't want to do much physical therapy in the nursing home. She just wants to lay in bed and watch TV all day. Now she has Covid so it's really worrisome as I feel like she's already given up on life.
