How can we rebound from a recession?

My main thoughts are:

1. just keep doing things and making things the best we can

2. do things differently, for example if fuel keeps going up maybe things will naturally become more locally sourced

3. don't accept thoughts that a recession is to remain for any certain amount of time, instead actively try to make things better however possible (e.g. do not take prolonged time off or give up on working "because of the economy", do learn to grow/hunt/source food, do learn about what the recession is and what we need to improve it, etc.)

edited thread title from "prevent" to "rebound from"

"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

You can't.

Q1 was negative and if Q2 is also negative, then it's a recession.

Q2 ends next week, so there is no time left to change anything.

People need to go back to work.

Even though there are lots of places trying to hire, there are lots of people sitting at home refusing to work.

To increase economic activity, you need to decrease economicinactivity.

The US in reality has already been in a recession for a while. With GDP being measured in dollars, all the spending bills and money printing has counted towards the GDP due to there being more dollars in circulation.

As the currency devalues and you have inflation, the inflation can look like GDP growth as well, due to it counting as more dollars.

It's smoke and mirrors - the US is already in the middle of a recession. Accounting voodoo just makes it look otherwise.

People need to pull their fingers out of their asses and increase total productivity.

This is the most clear and logical answer I've read in my research, thank you. It's funny how Reddit allows the - ppl sitting home and refusing to work - elephant to be in the room... absolute mental gymnastics... something-outta-thin-air economics. However I will give them the - the problems also come from the top and/or design - factor, too.

Just change the definition of a recession and tell the media what you want the sheep to hear. Problem solved.
