Is Stranger Things season 3 and 4 worth watching?

I liked season 1 but season 2 pissed me off. Are seasons 3 and 4 worth a watch? I thought I heard a rumor they got woke in which case I'm not interested.

The show is really bad and they decided to make half the cast gay.

The latest season was mind numbingly awful. The kids aren't kids any more. They threw in the dorkiest mexican pizza guy you could ever imagine. And also some lesbian because you have to have a lesbian. They also added in the token black guys little sister. Who kinda doesn't fit because she's now the only actual kid in the show. And much like previous season they killed off the only alpha male on the show, and he was only alpha by default because the rest of them are so pathetic. I got through it eventually but fell asleep so many times it took me more than a month to watch 9 episodes.

I didn't even understand the side plot with the sheriff. It was an entirely different show without any sort of plot or explanation of what was going on. It was the ultimate in bad time filler. But the regular show was so bad it kind of made these scenes not so bad? Still trying to figure out why they made him into conan the destroyer at the end?

It was a confusing mess with zero emotional payoff at any moment.

I enjoyed all 4 seasons. The latest season is probably the darkest yet.

Weirdest aspect is how old the kid actors / actresses got. They should do a big time jump for the final season.

Yeah literally the only likeable character on the show got killed off, while the rest of the annoying ****s survived.

It's a weird show with many of the "kids" being in their 30s and looking it.

There's tons of filler where the characters aren't doing much however there's some alternate universe of evil and so on. So, it's a little what the show's about and a lot of trivial stuff.

The bad guy of the show is also kind of trivial and has kind of a dull story.

If you must watch due to boredom it's okay to have on while miscing, etc.

Half the time I’m watching it I’m thinking as someone is cracking a random joke at a strange time, I wonder if these little kids know they are going up against frightening evil forces that just so happen to be rooted in their town, and this is the fourth time they are doing this. No thoughts about maybe switching schools in another state? Take a break from being the only **** hole town that is battling monsters from another dimension? Maybe come to a realization that you’re just children and that you could possibly show the United States military these creatures? Maybe it’s a good idea for some help No?

I agree.

All of what you mentioned makes watching the show feel like I am watching a show. I then get into thinking "What idiot wrote this" and stuff like that.

Originally, it was supposed to be an 80s nostalgia show about kids adventure movies from that time. It's where something wild is happening and the kids solve the mystery while the parents are oblivious to what is going on around them. I get that joke but on Stranger Things there's too much going on for it to be a light kids story, so it seems stupid.

The kids are going to hell with trash can lid shields. Meanwhile, in Russia, you can machine gun some of the monsters and they won't die. However, there's always time for some jokes----even though people you know got levitated and broken apart!

There's a bad ratio between the kids, the horror, and the humor.

One of the leading antagonists in s4 is a black guy but yeah it has kinda become scooby doo.

I enjoyed all 4 seasons

HOWEVER - 1 and 4 and clearly superior to 2 and 3. You're probably gonna want to watch 3 if you want to 'get' 4, but yeah. 2 is definitely the worst in most people's estimation so you're over that hump at least.

It depends on your temperament - it's definitely not a show that will appeal to people with conservative sensibilities, and not just because magic/demons/satanic etc.

You know I thought there was some reason that pizza guy irritates me. Now I know. He's Shaggy! Complete stoner with his own mystery machine. They just cast a mexican guy instead of a pasty skinny white guy to make it less obvious!

That's great!

I did not think of Scooby but the van and the Shaggy character is on target.

I was half watching the show while doing hobbies and so didn't think much about it. The pizza guy seems so DUMB and yet is, I guess, supposed to be Native American, so I wondered why, but it's because he is Shaggy.

That makes sense.

Not a lot of lesbians on Scooby Doo and the monster were always fake, but it's clear they are going for the same vibe.

The first couple of seasons were nostalgia overload with amazing plots. It was just about the perfect TV series..

This last season the kids are grown, the nostalgia is gone and its just over the top non-realistic evil/dark ridiculousness.

In my personal opinion, it lost everything that made it great and its time for the series to close out. Im still watching it but only to see how the story ends.

Season one 10/10
Season two 9/10
Season three 7/10
Season four 3/10

I havent caught those surreal upside down "1980s feels" a single time this season...

Season 1 was the best.
Season 2 was alright.
Season 3 was garbage.
Season 4 was fantastic.

It's worth struggling through the awful season 3 to get to the good stuff in season 4.

Show has been on a hard downtrend since the episode eleven took a visit to Hot Topic in season 2

the only things consistently good about the show are the music and visuals

You do not have to watch 3 to "get" 4. it's not that complicated of a show

It's not that the woke stuff is over the top. It's that all the new characters are checking off woke boxes here or there while adding nothing to the story, and the material just isn't very entertaining.
