"I am college educated so"

Not sure why people use this as an argument to showcase how smart they are.

College education means **** all depending on what your degree is.

Honestly, unless your degree is in Comp Sci, Eng, Finance/Accounting/maybe Econs, scientific pathways in the hard sciences (maths/physics/chem/bio), Law, healthcare your credentials are as good as a brick-laying tradie.

In fact, I would honestly consider a tradie job/business over some humanities bull**** - doesn't matter that someone got an Arts degree and then had to shell out for an MBA in order to somewhat make it.

The existence of departments/degrees outside of the aforementioned are why:

a) some low IQ tradies think "college education is useless" while they can only dream to be perceived the same way a medic can including earning potential

b) corporate "professional" jobs that can be done from people fresh out of high school need "any BA/BSc degree"; if people could go to school only for the aforementioned probably less than 20% of the population would go to college so having a bachelor would mean something

Got a good degree at a law school and many of the students I met there were quite dumb, especially when it comes to social issues.

Being college educated is more than just the degree. It teaches you how to interact with people of all different backgrounds and gets people out of their hometown shell where they only talk to people with similar viewpoints.

Youre still around people of similar background. If you grow up in rural WV, you wont understand anything beyond that when you go work at the local factory. However if you to Morgantown, you're going to be exposed to people of all different backgrounds.

College makes people more well rounded and logical. The degree is secondary to the life experience you get.

I have a bachelors in criminology which is nothing worth bragging about and I would never ever use that as a marker for my intelligence. College is not about IQ. Any idiot can pass most classes. It’s about putting in the time to get it done. That the majority of it.

It's not the same. I actually did both and there is a definite advantage to a good college experience. Although when I did college it was a lot cheaper.

A lot of people like that love institution and want the whole world to be set up that way. They want a system where they are the officers and everyone else are the grunts and you do what they say no matter what where they are right even if they are wrong. The real world doesn't work that way.

In the old days, to get into college you have to qualify that you were college material. A lot less people got in. Now everyone gets in and the reasons they are letting them in are reasons other than merit. From there you had to really work to get through it. Graduation rates were much lower back then. Now most people graduate as long as they go through the motions and agree with their professors because they have to pass these under the bar students through.

Anyways, if you look up CEO's and really successful people, they talk about their accomplishments. When someone's accomplishment is that they went to XYZ University, you know you are talking to a loser who probably only got a decent job because of gatekeepers and contacts. If you are really intelligent and educated you don't need to tell people about it.

I got into an argument about "toxic masculinity being a problem" with a lawyer, who owns a law practice. He's a liberal. So anyways when arguing a point he tried to go into some kind of personal attack. I said "Oh I see, you can't argue the point so you went into personal attacks. " He goes on about how he has a Law Degree from Harvard. I'm sticking to facts and he can't stop personal attacks, up until I told him about how if he wants to get personal how his fat wife with the big nose knows he has a weak chin under his beard that he has to grow out and that I can tell his beard is patchy because he didn't really go through puberty. I also mentioned he shouldn't stress himself being morbidly obese his heart can't really take much more. He said I was ignorant and the fact I believe that being fat is related to health issues is proof of me being uneducated. Looked him up more, he's not a trial lawyer, just a litigation lawyer, so a fancy paralegal.

Yeah, this isn't controversial. And it goes both ways. I grew up in West Texas and went to school in the "big city" in West Texas, that was dumb but cheap. The dudes who can't keep Stanford or Yale outta their fuking mouths have no idea how to talk to midwesterners.

I have a Masters in Accounting and don't think it means much, though Accounting is probably more difficult than whatever field of study the majority of people who brag about being "college educated" (it's generally lib arts types, or something like Public Health like that twerking RI sloot, who brag like that) went to school for.

People with degrees is rigorous disciplines like math/comp sci/physics/engineering/etc. I actually have some respect for (especially if they did it at a graduate level) because those are actually difficult subjects.
