Went to the gym for the first time in two years...
holy fk never seen a gym this packed mid-day Sunday.
Jesus must not be doing his job.
Also, increase in miscers and less hbbs + average sloots.
Just a bunch of attention hoar milfs.
fkn glad I didn't get the annual membership.

Depends what gym. Both my 24 hour fitness I go to are usually packed with zoomers and nothing but men. I rarely see women go now.

What did you expect?
An empty gym for you alone?

I'm done with gyms. My last gym turned into a teen hangout of zoomers. Gym culture is gone. No etiquette, no one helps anyone, people just act like dicks and these kids just take their shirts off and have photoshoots like fukking women.
The only more hardcore gym by me is still too far to want to go to.
I'm finding one with nature, calisthenics, and back to my sport roots for fitness. 100% better. I feel better, no nonsense at the gym, and my body loves it at this age. I think my powerlifting/strength focus days are in the past until I get a house and have my own home gym or I move somewhere close to a more hardcore gym.

I go to a pretty small Anytime Fitness and every day I watch people come in for tours and to signup. Thankfully I go off peak. I can only imagine how packed it gets at 5pm.
Fuk off we’re full.

Went to the gym yesterday @ 11:00 AM
Pretty much empty, in an affluent neighborhood, so people have lives apparently where they don’t go to the gym on a summer weekend

So get this. Today. I'm on the bench pressing the 75 lb dumbbells. I have a bald boomer next to me on the bench next to me using like 35 pound dumbbells. As I'm pressing my 75s this bald Boomer comes behind me and starts trying to spot me unsolicited. I have my earphones in with the music blaring so I can't hear if he's saying anything and I can't really talk to him but I wanted to say yo bro I'm fine. I do this everyday. I don't need you and you're f**king distracting me. He eventually left me after one set. I didn't acknowledge him at all because I was kind of pissed. I don't need someone in my way. Thanks but no thanks.
What's the etiquette on this? I don't want somebody coming over to spot me unless I ask. I'm doing 3x12 with the 75s.

Corporate gyms blow cawk now and it’s mostly due to the people who workout there, but my LA Fitness never fixed their broken equipment and kept adding bullchit charges to my card at scan in, so I canceled.
Working out at the gym in my building now. Not great (only dumbbells up to 50lbs and no squat rack) but for basically free it’s the best option. Nobody ever works out there so I’m always getting great workouts in an empty gym. Feels good man.

The covid lockdowns in 2021 - early 2021 really made me realize how much I've grown to despise modern gym culture, and gyms in general these days. Nowadays 90% of gym goers are just annoying to be around.
Plus, unless you have a home gym or work out in a gym in an apartment complex or something, going to gyms such a massive time suck, it's not even funny. brb 20 - 30 minutes dedicated to driving to and from gym minimum, changing in the locker room times, waiting for equipment you want to use before leaving while others bs around looking at their phones/yucking it up with their dumb friends on it, post workout hygiene that's a pita compared to doing it at home, etc. I found that being a gymcel was always a great way to kill 3 hours+ of time just to get a decent 1 hr - 1.5 hr workout in. Not to mention dealing with all the annoying pricks that seem to love to flood most gyms now.
These days, I'll pass on all that crap. It's just not worth it to me anymore. I've got some free weights in my basement that I like to use. It's certainly not a full gym worth of equipment by any means, but it still beats the piss out of dealing with gyms.

Either way, this current gym culture is irritating. No respect period. Only one commercial gym I go to has a crossfit area which is only allowed to people if you have a upgraded membership.
No one goes in it but me. Total freedom. People not wiping off benches when they leave a puddle of sweat, leaving dumbbells on the floor where people can trip.
Worst of all that pisses me off, is those fukers who do lunges in the fuking walkway where it is the only path for you to access the fuking weights.
Like seriously?

Monday and Tuesday are packed, mostly with zombies staring at their phones not sweating at all.
Wednesday and Thursday are about 60% and the weekends have peak periods then are dead after.
cliffs: it varies
Many apartments have such nice gyms that gym attendance is way down at commercial gyms.
