Are collagen supplements legit? (srs)
Thinking of using it mainly for skinmaxxing, currently use Vitamin C Serum, Tretinoin and SPF 50 moisturiser. Seen decent results so far but my skin could be better.
From what I've read you need 15g/15000mg to really see the benefits of it, heard it's good for joints and apparently strength/muscle but think that's just bro science.
Any brahs had experience with it?

I dont see how it would work. When you digest it you would break down the protein to its amino acids like digesting anythign else and then your body would use it as needed. Its not like its all going to stay as collogen and go straight to your skin. The collogen protein powders are more expensive than the others because its the in thing right now and they can charge more, that is my take.

I take it for joints and ligaments for at least a year, rather consistently.
I've noticed no difference in skin, hair, or nails. I've noticed no difference in joint pain or strengthening ligaments.
I'm nearly 40 with no wrinkles, but pretty sure it's just genetics.
There's other benefits like the protein and BCAAs. I continue to take it because I can't consume whey.

Preliminary results are promising for the short and long-term use of oral collagen supplements for wound healing and skin aging. Oral collagen supplements also increase skin elasticity, hydration, and dermal collagen density.
https://europepmc.org/article/med/30...bot&client=botThe evidences obtained from these systematic reviews indicated that oral administration of intact or hydrolyzed collagen improves clinical manifestation of skin health.
https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/...111/jocd.13435In the meta-analysis, a grouped analysis of studies showed favorable results of hydrolyzed collagen supplementation compared with placebo in terms of skin hydration, elasticity, and wrinkles. The findings of improved hydration and elasticity were also confirmed in the subgroup meta-analysis. Based on results, ingestion of hydrolyzed collagen for 90 days is effective in reducing skin aging, as it reduces wrinkles and improves skin elasticity and hydration.

Yes i get the vital proteins from cvs with my 40% off coupon. Makes it cheap enough to be worth it. Also extra protein since I dont do protein shakes.

From what I've read they're a scam.
“Steroids is now just a word that the lazy and ignorant use to describe any guy that has more muscle and dedication than them”– Mike O'Hearn
"I am like getting the feeling of cumming in the gym; I'm getting the feeling of cumming at home; I'm getting the feeling of cumming backstage; when I pump up, when I pose out in front of 5000 people I get the same feeling, so I am cumming day and night. It's terrific, right? So you know, I am in heaven."

They don’t do what they claim by the mechanism they claim
But they do contain nutrients. I’m sure some dumb slots out there that live off of potato chips and Dunkin’ Donuts started taking it and noticed an improvement after being nutrient starved in general.

Also OP. I forgot to add.
The reason that collagen definitely works for skin and hair is because it are great at healing our gut/intestine. All of our guts are fukked from western diets. This is the source of most skin and hair issues including Male Pattern baldness and acne.
Doesnt matter if the collagen actually reaches the skin as collagen or not because it definitely helps the gut which helps the skin.

There are other studies and many anecdotes out there include me.
