Keep a good bite on the cotton pad and do a salt water rinse every 6 hours 1 tablespoon of salt to a cup of water and let it stand so the salt desolves.
You'll spit blood for 2 or 3 days. Avoid toothpastes and mouthwash.

Eat soft chit for about a week. Eggs are GOAT. Far better than chitty canned soup.
The blood clot should be well established in about 2 days if they didn't put stitches in.
Don't lift heavy for at least a week, maybe a bit more.

Been there. It's not fun.

Done years ago.

They say that the best time to get them out is in your 20s.

If they are "impacted" - - - meaning they never came in and are up in the gum - - - then they can cause problems down the line, so best to get them out asap.

I waited until my 30s, and I had to sign off on a document before the surgery saying I accept the risk that a nerve could be disturbed/damaged and you can end up with some facial numbness, issues, etc.
The document detailed statistics regarding the increased risks based on age - - - 20s, 30s, 40s, etc. Maybe if they have "come in" and are not impacted, then the risk is really not as much of an issue.

The longer they stay up there (impacted) and the older you get, this risk of damaging a facial nerve goes up.

Anyway, that price seems totally reasonable. I was pretty much healed up and back to normal in 7-10 days. Take care OP.

I had all 4 taken out in 2004. They were all sideways and deep in the back of my jaw. If I remember correctly, they had me use tea bags to help with the swelling and bleeding. But don’t quote me on that.
Hope you feel better.

You have sht insurance then, I don't even have a co-pay if I go to an in network dentist.

3 of my wisdom teeth taken out, luckily just numb the area and pulled them, but sore for a week. Avoid anything spicey, hurts like all hell.

Mashed potatoes, greek yogurt, and protein shakes saved me srs

Very "rare" scrambled eggs great too. Basically squish them with your tongue than swallow, no chewing needed

I didn't workout because I was embarrassed of my swollen face

Its $100 a tooth in Vietnam, plenty left over for hookers and flights. Even if the cost of travel makes it the same, places like Asia have alot more options and appointments are days ahead, not months

yep no working out, no suction, etc. you want that chit to clot properly because you don't want dry socket, that chit in some cases can hurt worse than the extraction. If that happens you'll have to go back, and have them pack that chit back in costing more money. Eat whatever soft foods you're comfortable with. and call you dentist and see if you can get one of these

Put some warm salt water in a cup, draw the water in, and spray the water around the site to keep it clean.

They didn’t explain what you had to do or give you paperwork with recommendations? What back alley dentist did you go to?

I have to get mine taken out too. Bottoms are severely impacted but zero pain so I’ve been putting it off.

I had four done as well around 20yo, two impacted. They put me under, broke the impacted ones and dug them out, stitched the gums up and tasted blood for a couple days while biting down on gauze.

You'll be fine in about a week.
