"Russia has reportedly approached Iran to acquire as many as 300 drones to replace its substantial combat losses in Ukraine, according to US intelligence officials cited in a New York Times report this week.

The stupid Americans have been talking up the Iranian drones to influence Europe to become anti-Iranian, but as often is the case with stupid Americans there attempts have backfired and they have just shown the rest of the region that Iran is a technological power.

It's also a snippet of Russia's running shorter now on domestic sources of material supply/weaponry/ammo/etc, and their lack of numerous foreign allies and assistance to aid them with that so they're asking Iran of all places for help. Ukraine on the other hand has over 50 countries that have officially pledged material support to Ukraine for the duration of the war. Russia has very few to no one in that category. Ukraine will be steadily upgraded over time as has been happening so far, while Russia war-making capability will be steadily downgraded over time. Russia even failed at their attempts to achieve air superiority over Ukraine, which almost everyone expected they'd succeed at. Putin should maybe consider negotiating for Crimea and nothing else, ending the war if that is legally made Russia's by Ukraine and the world, and demanding nothing much else beyond that.

Indian and Chinese soldiers beat each other to death with sticks and rocks in border disputes, I don’t think that’s gonna happen. I think India has their own dreams, and I think China also has their own dreams and would just as readily ditch Russia if the relationship ceases benefitting them.

Ukraine may have 12 million men of fighting age, but only a small fraction of them will be actual fighters. The rest may just avoid combat all together or act in auxilary roles.

It might not even be totally inaccurate to say the majority of the world is either neutral or "with" Russia here at least in terms of population, with China and India being the two most populous countries by a big margin and supplying limited humanitarian aid but otherwise not particularly friendly countries to NATO.

But population seems a less important metric when massive swaths of China's and India's population are in poverty. Look at GDP, GDP per Capita, level of development, or any number of other important metrics, and I think the developed world is overwhelmingly with Ukraine and NATO.
