US Army Embraces "EV Future" With New Electric Hummer

On Earth Day (Apr. 22), President Biden stated, "every vehicle in the United States military is going to be climate-friendly." He said, "we're spending billions of dollars to do it."

Months later, the U.S. Army bought a 2022 Hummer EV pickup from General Motors' subsidiary GM Defense, Detroit Free Press reported.

Can't wait to see electric tanks and bradeys on the battlefield, waiting for charging ports to come through to charge an entire fleet of vehicles that powered down in a fire fight. Sounds utterly retarded, when some military vehicles running on diesel can run up to 5-7 days. So glad I got out when I did. Literally now ran by complete retards from the top down. (Ded fkn Srs)

Not familiar with weapons of war, but pretty sure there’s tech to incapacitate or destroy electronic devices…I’m guessing that would include these pieces of chit.

Cap. When I was in the Army most of our gear was dated back in like 1992. The budget is always small and the only new crap you could get was uniforms. I'm over here shooting an M16 from the Vietnam era and trying to qualify at the range with that piece of crap. Politicians are all talk when it comes to anything related to improving anything in the Military.

I always knew the Electric/Green industry was profitable due to gov subsidies/incentives/lobbying, but holy fuk they are raking in serious $ now.

And you know all that money being circulated is going right back into the coffers of these politicians who will just continue this cycle.

They are going to have a lot of fun trying to keep these all charged out there on the battlefield.

Blowing chit up, murdering tons of people, and they're concerned about their carbon footprint...

EMP. That would actually make most ICE's undrivable as well, but it's obvious far more concerning for EV's considering how the entire vehicle runs off electricity.

Yes and furthermore power grids aren't exactly stable in combat zones and third world countries. So if this happens they are going to need massive diesel generators to charge these EV's.

Biden is literally going to go down as the worst president in history.

Climate change is the most serious threat our planet faces today. The only solution is to spend billions and buy our climate friendly product. Soldier safety is a small price to pay when combating the REAL threat we all face.

Also, you are a bigot if you don't support this.

Literally every single idea he has had has been terrible. Every single action he has implemented will have to be reversed in order to make things better.

Worse than that….they won’t even be on the battlefield because China dominates the market for the rare metals needed for batteries. They’ll just tell us to go fukk ourselves and boom, no tanks.

The EV hummers are fukn nuts tho and I think the electric powertrain would likely have a lot of benefits for combat vehicles, when you can stick an electric motor at each wheel then crab walk etc while pushing 1,000 hp

Would love to see this in person, @ 06:45

I could literally see this dementia ridden puppet changing military uniforms to rainbow to show our support for the alphabet community. Fugg camouflage and concealing yourself from the enemy when you can don groomer stealth and really go after those kiddos…I mean, adversaries.

This. The military is already pretty reliant on a lot of rare earth metals for use in high tech weapons systems. Going the EV route only makes us more reliant on an already limited resource.

HMMWV is obsolete anyway, why are we buying retrofitted vehicles that have no place on the modern battlefield?

Keep in mind how thanks to democrats, these military vehicles will be having to compete with the consumer car and electronics market for these materials.

They really didn't think this through. For something so centered around being the solution of the future, there is no future in it.

A battery powered vehicle in a war setting is practically the dumbest idea I've ever heard. We are miles away from the energy requirements need to divorce ourselves from conventional gasoline.

Pretty sure one of the main reasons we were able to defeat the Germans is that our Sherman tanks (who were far inferior to their German counterparts) required less preventive maintenance vs operating time and were back out on the field faster than the Germans.

Just lol @ going EV for war.

We deserve our eventual defeat.

That's the thing about liberals, especially today's liberals. They claim to be so concerned about the future, yet they prove time and time again how they are only capable of thinking in the now. Everything they do revolves around them introducing THEIR concept of solutions for what we're focused on as issues of today. Never once thinking ahead, never once evaluating the way things could change, just 100% gung-ho for the present day agenda because their pre-approved authority figures told them it's a good idea.

Liberalism isn't for critical thinkers, or even individual thinkers. It's 100% group-think sensationalized mob mentality.
